Those Mausers are still availabe for a couple hundred bucks a piece from numerous dealers on the web.

It's a darned well built, rugged, reliable, and powerful rifle. If you can scare one and a few tins of 8MM ammo up I'd say go for it.

Try Mitchells Mausers to start with. They've got some very nice ones.
