We aren’t stupid commie bastards, if you want to murder and torture people then don’t think that you represent America, or me or Ronald Reagan.

Russkies always have always been brutal in war. We didn’t mind it that much in WWII because they were doing it to Germans.

When the Russians waterboard there are weights attached to the board so it will sink.

The Russians are tough. But I bet they never went so far as to put panties on heads of detainees, say that a harmless bug released into a cell will sting, or play the Barney Song for hours? Now that would be going too far.

Congratulations! You nailed it.

This article in the Times of London is a prime example of "the vast right wing conspiracy" at work. The timing is perfect. If there is one thing I have to congratulate the Republican underground for, it is its use of the foreign press to expose the lies of the scumbag Democrats by going around the sychophant US rat newsrooms.

The foreign press is the best way to sidestep the bastards because stories make the rounds via the internet. This is the kind of story ( ie., the truth about what real torture is) that gets those sick Democrat scumbags and their newsrooms gnashing their teeth. (Damn... we thought we spiked that story...)

FRegards,
LH

Did you know how to control the Russians during WWII?

I don’t see anywhere in my post where I said we should murder and torture people. My point was that the Russian character is a bit different than us in the west, and it always has been.

What makes you think most Russians wanted communism? For almost their entire history they were brutalized by one dictator or another, Mongols, Czars, Nazis, Communists. For the average Russian it was mostly a matter of going along with the powers that be just to survive.

Communism always fails of course, but I won’t fault the Russians for fighting terrorism. Do you think waterboarding is torture? Would you support the prosecution of Bush officials for torture?

Yep...the Russians have never played around when it comes terrorists. Especially after the Moscow opera and Beslan school massacre, I believe most Russians are fully aware and supportive of these interrogation methods. I seem to recall there were 0 terrorists taken prisoner in both incidences. At least if there were prisoners, they lived only long enough to provide information to the Russians.

The Russians suck, no wonder everything that they do militarily fails.

Americans don't have those problems.

If you want to defend the commies you will have to work at it.

The Russians kidnapped the captors own people and sent back body parts until their people were released. They weren’t wimps.

““One very effective method is ‘the grand piano’ - when one by one we’d smash the captive’s fingers with a hammer. It’s dirty and difficult work. You would not be human if you enjoyed it but it was the only way to get this filth to talk.”

A hammer would also be used to smash a captive’s kneecaps and militants would be forced to perform sexual acts. The scenes would occasionally be filmed and circulated among enemy combatants in psychological warfare.

And the scumbag Democrats want to prosecute Americans for putting panties on terrorists' heads and dumping water on them.

Gotta love the timing of this article in the Times of London.... the "vast right wing conspiracy" is back at work exposing the Democrats for the lying scumbags they are by going around the rats' American newsrooms.

President and the man Ronald Reagan didn’t see things like the Communists, so what is your point?

President Reagan never did the commie crap that you are trying to sell.

When scum tries to sell Reagan as equal to performing the despicable and ineffective acts of the communists then they need to be resisted.

Funny how the world is hyper critical of Israel, but silent on these much more brutal tactics. Where are those “brave” human rights and humanitarian groups when you need them? Nowhere to be found. Because they realize that Russia would never put up with their sh!t and they would end up just like their “clients”.

Honestly, I think its open to debate which methods work better. While its comforting to believe that a “hearts and minds” approach works, there isn’t a lot of evidence for it. Maybe it will work in Iraq, but that is still to be decided. In either case, it needs to be backed up by force. You can say the carrot approach worked with Germany and Japan, but only after they had been exhausted militarily. Same thing with the American South after the Civil war. Sadly, most wars are won by bludgeoning the oppononent until they can’t take it anymore. Remember, the loser (not the winner) decides when a war is over.

This war has been going on for years. In the end, what works is to eliminate the terrorists and killing them is the most effective and permanent method.

This war was marked by unspeakable brutality by both sides but was initiated by the Chechens who are Muslim and had on their side highly trained and vicious Islamists from their own tribes and also Al Qaida Holy Warriors of many different nationalities. A lot of Chechens have fought against American troops in Afghanistan and other places. The Chechens carried on a wide scale, systematic campaign of kidnapping, murder and terrorism in the neighboring Russian states and Russia itself.

Unfortunately, when one is fighting Islamists, torture, murder and brutality is common (encouraged, even) by the Islamists against their enemy. The Russians fought fire with fire. It is not pretty, but it is unlikely they out-brutalized the Chechens.

I doubt anybody from either side will ever go to trial in The Hague for war crimes. For one thing, nobody in The Hague would dare try to bring any of these people to "justice". Both sides play for keeps and they would as soon murder The Hague judges as each other.

“We are not murderers. We are officers engaged in a war against brutal terrorists who will stop at nothing, not even at killing children. They are animals and the only way to deal with them is to destroy them. There is no room for legal niceties in a war like this. Only those who were there can truly understand. I have no regrets. My conscience is clear.”

This says it all. I stand and cheer.

"decorated veterans of more than 40 tours of duty in Chechnya"

Forty? Ten day tours? Weekend tours? Or eighty men who did one half each?

A reminder of why Russians are such failures, and why even their nation is disappearing, while ours expands and grows.

I don't know which 'Planet Earth' you are living on but you've got your logic completely backwards

The irony is that many of the so-called “neo-conservatives” in the Bush administration actually supported the Chechen separatists. This little-known fact was pretty well obscured after the Beslan massacre.

And if you are calling me scum....screw you.
