Real protest means sacrifice (MORE 'ADVICE' FROM HARE-BRAINED LIBERALS)
Chicago Tribune ^ | April 26, 2009 | Charles M. Madigan

Posted on 04/26/2009 8:29:35 AM PDT by Chi-townChief

Here is something that would.

Let's go back to two of the most valiant protesters of the Vietnam War era, the Berrigan brothers, Daniel, the Jesuit and Philip, the former priest (now dead), who were at the center of lots of disruption as the anti-war movement found its way. I'm not here to argue about those positions. But the Berrigans at least were effective.

That was because they were willing to give up everything they had, including their freedom, for their causes. You don't take a hammer to the nose of a warplane unless you are willing to spend some time in a prison cell. You don't spill blood on draft board records, or burn them with homemade napalm, unless you understand there are consequences, and those consequences become part of the protest effort.

So apparently, this liberal swine believes that we should hire some professional protestors like the Berrigan boys to vandalize a lot of government stuff rather than protest peaceably and make our voices heared at the ballot box.

It wasnt an “authentic” protest....Know why?

No Hamas flags

No hezbulla flags

No palistine flags

No mexican flags

No “death to isreal” banners

No “george bush is a war criminal” banners

No “9/11 was an inside job” banners...

No one was burned in effigy

No one was spitting at soldiers

No one was screaming “baby killers”

No guys dressed as nuns french kissing

No water board parties

No riot cops where standing by

No one got clubbed

No one got tazzed

No one got tear gassed

No windows were broken

No cars were turned over

No buildings were burned

No one threw bags of urine or sh!t at cops

No one chained themselves to anything

No one wore masks to hide their identities

No sign of Sheehan, Farrakan, Jackson, Sharpton, Lee or Jane fonda

No wonder the left doesnt recognize it as a valid protest...

the Berrigan brothers, Daniel, the Jesuit and Philip, the former priest (now dead),

One down, one to go.

Oh these brave souls and the price they paid.
Lionized by the left, and slapped on the wrist
by the judiciary.

They should have been hung.

Liberals are good at telling “others” to sacrifice.

America’s political alignment goes something like this, rage baby left consoled by emotionally distressed big momma liberal who is screaming at Rino feckless father to do something to shut up Jr. rage baby.

How many life time assets would a pair of priests have, anyway?

That was because they were willing to give up everything they had, including their freedom, for their causes.

The signers of the Declaration of Independence were such people. They didn't risk a night in jail, they risked their life and property. They really had something to lose.

The smelly swine left protesters of the Vietnam Era, Code Pink, etc are nothing more than criminal idiots and/or domestic terrorists. The most they risk is leaving a life of starvation for 3 meals per day in prison, or missing the next friday night drinking binge.

If they are lucky, they could even run for President someday (ala Kerry and Obama)

Even at face value, the author has it backwards. We don’t have to sacrifice to protest. The tea parties are a protest becasue we are forced to sacrifice.

The Chicago Tribune? Didn't that used to be a newspaper or something?

money for college to small-business loans

The author misses a couple of points here. If my taxes were reduced, I could pay for college on my own, my preferred means of doing so. I don't own a small business, and don't work for a small business, so I don't see the benefit to me of that program. A potential entrepreneur with a business model that has merit will be able to find capital without the government shoveling money its way.

I despised the Berrigan brothers, and all the rest of the left-wing protesters.

Nevertheless, I believe the author has a point. The various Tea Parties, including the one I attended, can be characterized as saying "we're mad as hell, and we're not going to take it any more."

Okay, well and good, but what are we/you/I going to do so we don't "take it" any more? Are we willing to risk doing things that might result in jail?

From our standpoint, burning tax records instead of draft cards doesn't make any sense. But just how far are we willing to go to put an end to taxes and spending?

It's hard to go on a tax strike when taxes are already withheld from your pay. Are we willing to "go Galt" and not have any taxable income?

If we're not willing to do whatever is needed, then the Tea Parties are simply wasted effort. At best they're a start. But we need to follow up with something effective.

IMHO I think sacrificing liberals at our protests is a great idea.

I suggest Mr. Madigan start by emulating the protesting Buddhist monk in Vietnam. Sit down in the street, pour gasoline all over yourself, light yourself on fire, then sit there and quietly burn to a crisp. Then he might earn a little of my respect.

When was the last time left-wing protestors had to sacrifice for their protests? Funny, but I don’t remember any college students who recently prevented others from exercising their rights to free speech getting expelled.

Why would you want to do something as asinine as these lefty slime would do? Getting out the vote is the point; otherwise you’re just wasting tour time.

Those Tea Parties really threw them for a loop. Liberals don’t like it when conservatives demonstrate.

Therefore I think we should make it a pretty frequent thing: big demonstrations, impromptu smaller demonstrations, etc. Keep them coming folks, don’t wait for July 1st. Organize a group of like minded citizens, stand at an intersection or outside a court house with signs, give a call to local media and keep it up.

Also every FR person needs to have anti Obama stickers on their cars. I see hardly any in my area and McCain won here. I still see Obama stickers all over the place. Obviously these sad sacked liberals are delusional about their Messiah and not ashamed to leave them up. We need to change that.
