Ok, no problem. I’m not a member but my dad is. They have private sales tables but I’m not up on how that works. I could have bought a gun there and not have been a WAC member. I think they (WAC) just organize the event .... I’ve heard that 3,000rds is about normal for the average shooter. My dad’s stock (as well as other members of the family) is around 3k per ... we now just practice with .22’s ...

No biggie ... Tacoma is just convenient for me to live since it’s close (sorta) to work ... much rather live on the west side of Hood Canal where my folks are ... I have my CCW out of Pt. Townsend (actually Hadlock) - don’t have to go to the county seat to get it since the sheriff has his office and jail there ....

I’m up on the hill near the north end of Lake Tapps.

Kinda, sorta, pretty much rural.

Ammunition manufacturers are working around the clock, seven days a week making MILLIONS of rounds.

They simply cannot keep up with the demand. People who used to buy 50-round boxes of ammo are buying cases. No industry can keep up with that dramatic an increase in demand in the short run.

Further, it doesn't make sense to build more ammunition factories because demand could fall as quickly as it rose.

OK - I know where that is. I’ve flown over LT many times going into Pierce/Thurston airport ....

Haven't been able to contact my folks yet but if you go here they're the people who had the ammo table ...

CZ 522s are very dependable in my experience except ... check for the peening on the pins that hold these puppies together they can back out if not thoroughly peened ... the surplus magazines have been know to have the bottoms fall out and will not always actuate the magazine hold back subjecting the somewhat fragile firing pins to dry fire stresses if the shooter does not count shots.

BTW, I have several. Like them. Would advise others to buy, but not certain I would advise them to buy strictly for personal defense. For home defense, get a shotgun.

Well, if you’re in the neighborhood again, do me a favor.
Don’t crash.

Don’t intend to ... it’s weird that after I come over the ridge from I90 the air gets all uppity ... on the north side it’s smooth but after passing over Cougar it really gets bouncy ....

My local gun shop has a limited supply of primers. You can purchase only two packages (100 each) per customer. The prices have doubled too. It's $3.25 for 100 primers. I previously purchased 1,000 (10 boxes) at a time for $18.00. For now, the supplies are sitting on the shelf. I can start making good ammo when I need it. The days of blowing off a couple boxes of ammo at the range are behind me. Shooting just for entertainment isn't wise when you aren't certain you can replace it.

Two different GM division's, Inland Gear and Saginaw Steering, made M1 Carbines. Inland made more than any other manufacturer. Even today Inland made carbines, like mine sell for less than any other manufacturers. For example the The CMP sells the "service grade" Inland for $495, the next less expensive are the Saginaw and IBM for $575. Winchester and Rockola (juke boxes!) are SOLD OUT, but would be $675 if they had them.

This particular aircraft was also built by GM:

We ought to be spending the stimulus on Bombs, beans and bullets, but that would be the wrong sort of stimulus for the anti military wing of the Socialistia party, which is now most of it, and which is headed by person of Kenyan parentage.

GM also made these:

GM Production worker, WW-II vintage.

Until 1995 GM's Allision division produced turbine engines for helicopters, as well as for such aircraft as the C-130 Hercules, the V-22 Osprey, and the P-3 Orion, E-2 Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound, but they sold that to Royals Royce that year.

The Gander Mountain closest to me has many thousands of shotshell primers and “large pistol magnum” primers, but not a single large/small rifle/pistol primer of any brand. Haven’t seen any for a month or so, either, although I have been trying to stop by after they get their shipments in.

My preferred powders, Reloder 19 and IMR 4064, are tending to be pretty scarce, too.

My M-16 was built by their TurboHydramatic division.

I bought .45 recently at Walmart and the price was the same (29.99)

When I first started shooting my 1911 in 1999, the going price for a box of 50 Speer Lawman 230 gr FMJ was $11.99. That was expensive enough to spur me to reload my own. A box of 50 reloaded cost me $6.00 at the time. I haven't recalibrated my cost per box since the price of components has gone up.

For comparison, a box of 1,000 primers was $18. A 1 lb bottle of Win231 powder was $18. The 45Auto with 230 gr bullet needs about 5.4 gr of W231, so powder was 1.4 cents per shot. Primer was 1.8 cents per shot. Brass was recovered from the floor of the range. I used a box of 250 bullets from West Coast Bullets (out of business now) for about $22. That's about 12 cents per cartridge. I did the reloading while listening to Matt Drudge on the radio.

My initial supply of brass for the reloads came from purchasing factory Speer Lawman ammo. I've reloaded enough to more than repay the cost of the reloading equipment vs factory loads.

I’d rather go to Federal Way than Tacoma, and I’d rather have my eyes bored out with hot needles than go to Federal Way!

I lived in Federal Way in 1963/1964. I was in 3rd grade and attended Adelaide Elementary school. Apparently, it's not the same nice place I remember.

It’s not good advice when you can take shots accurately out to a mile and a half.

We were there a week ago and the .223 we were looking for was well stocked. I didn’t look at everything.
