Its only a declared Public Health Emergency, what makes you think they’d do something right?

Of course not. That would be “racist”. Not appear racist is far more important than the health, safety, and security of US citizens. And while we’re on that subject, citizen is a quasi-racist term too.

Ms. Napolitano will, however, order the detainment and testing of all veterans and right wing extremists. She thinks that they are obviously the main source of swine flu in this country.

It would be profiling. Instead, all people who voted for McCain will be strip searched at airports.

I’m not sure how they could implement a test. Aren’t there millions of travelers flying every day?

There are lots of other logistical questions to consider among which: How quickly do the tests produce results? Where would they do the testing anyway? Are there enough tests to go around? When, how, where are the tests ordered and delivered? What sort of administrative infrastructure is set up to deal with it?

The good news is that we’re moving into the warmer months which will reduce the medium for the virus to thrive.

According to other reports yesterday it takes about a week to get rest results for this particular pig-bird-man virus.

That leaves a couple of alternatives to testing ~ one is to close the borders (by shutting down flights from US to Mexico), or giving all the passengers seditives and stacking them up in the waiting areas pending results.

War on drugs, yet scant border security

Illegal aliens, read above

Dramatic increase in diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria, yellow fever, leprosy, same enforcement as above.

We have a Mexican restaurant on every street corner down in Houston. Many times the help barely speaks English (you know, that language that should be our official language...press #1).

Dishwashers, Food prep, Janitorial staff.....eeewwwwww!

Thinkin I'll stay in the office to eat lunch for a couple of weeks.

Why not at least use the fever scanners that airports used during the SARS outbreak?

Because Rahm needs all the emergencies he can get!

The proper handling of future democrat voters is a hell of a lot more important than the health/security of the American public. Everybody knows that!

Swine flu is currently a Phase 3 Global Outbreak

Phase 1-3: Predominantly Animal Infections.

In these phases, the influenza virus is contained, for the most part, to the animal population, in so-called "Animal to Animal" infections. Animal to Human infections can follow, with limited Human to Human infections. The majority of human

Infections in this phase occur because of contact with the infected animals, or because of contact with someone who has had contact with the infected animals.

Phase 4: Sustained Human To Human

This phase marks what is known as "community-level outbreaks," meaning the Human to Human infections become more widespread without the virus diminishing in strength or dying out. This phase is decidedly more dangerous than Phases 1-3, as the threat of pandemic is much higher if the infection has already spread throughout a locale.

Phase 5-6: Pandemic

Phase 5 marks the spread of the virus to 2 countries within 1 WHO-designated region, and is the strongest signal that a global pandemic is imminent. Phase 6 is the global pandemic itself, meaning that community-level outbreaks are seen in at least 1 other country in a different WHO region, in addition to the ones used to those defined in Phase 5. At this point, the organization of strategy to battle the virus will have been underway, and the treatment should be in full swing.
