FAA says low-flying plane over Staten Island is 'pre-planned' flight to take photos by Staten Island Advance ... Yeah, right. Professional photogs everywhere much prefer a big, lumbering passenger jet making multiple passes in order to get just the right shot, to a nimble helicopter that can hover in place, for photo shoots.
This "photo shoot" story is BULLSH*T, I say.

Maybe they wanted a pic of the AF-1 flying over the statue of liberty? For an ad about how O is bringing liberty back to our nation?

RE my post 41 above ... posted before I'd read the thread; apparently the plane itself is the subject of the photo shoot, not the city below. I still maintain that it's bullsh*t, though. Fighter jets would not the the vehicles carrying the photographer/s. It would be a smaller executive Lear-type jet as are used for filming with steadycams. And why would a photog of the Presidential plane with Staten Island as a backdrop include military figher jets on its tail?
This is bullsh*t, I suspect. I wonder what was really going on.
