Thailand's gay monks given 'good manners' guide
A Buddhist leader in Thailand has announced plans for a new set of guidelines to curb the behaviour of homosexual and transgender monks.
28 Apr 2009
The "good manners" curriculum was devised to discourage monks from wearing make-up and tight robes. More than 90 per cent of the Thai population are followers of Buddhism and most men spend at least one year in a monastery during their youth.
Phra Maha Wudhijaya Vajiramedhi, a senior monk, told the BBC the guidelines would address issues like smoking, drinking alcohol, walking and going to the toilet properly, which are all detailed in the traditional 75 Dharma principles of Buddhism, and the 227 precepts for monks.
But he was especially concerned, he said, by the flamboyant behaviour of homosexual and transgender monks, who can often be seen wearing revealing robes, carrying pink purses and sporting effeminately-shaped eyebrows.
Phra Vajiramedhi acknowledged that it was difficult to exclude transgender men from the monkhood but he hoped his course could at least persuade them to limit their more extrovert habits.

Bizarre.
This is outrageous!!!!!!!!
Gay Monk Guide Page 1: Do NOT sodomize, rape nor attempt to have sexual thoughts about your fellow monks.
Homosexuality is an abnormality. All of the folks that I have known with this condition are violent, disruptive and disturbed, yet the left holds them up as role models.
I don't get it.
I see. 75 principles, 227 precepts, and not one of them is “if you’re a man, be a man”.
Lay Buddhist monks are apparently allowed to be married, but they are all required to be celibate when in a monastic community.
Of the gay people I have known personally, I can't think of one who could be classified as violent. I would find it surprising if most people don't agree that this is the general trend.
Anyone who is even slightly serious or sincere about following the tenets of Buddhism would not be acting on any perverted sexual desires.
Perverted sexual urges and being a monk are completely in opposition. Obviously this “monkhood” is mostly a shallow cultural habit, not a sincere vocation (at least for these weirdos).
I guess I'm not most people. Ask a police officer. Very high rate of domestic violence among male and female homosexuals. Very few around this small, rural town, actually a small minority in the general population nationwide. The ones here are well known for bizarre behavior, substance abuse, screaming fights in the middle of town.
More often self destrucive than violent.
Oh exalted guru! Are you experiencing sadhana or are you just glad to see me?
Two of the homosexuals I was best acquainted with (my younger brother; dead at 42 for one, and a co-worker for a number of years for another, dead in his early 50s) did not show any signs of their affliction. I did not find out until after they were dead.
My brother lived in San Francisco and I didn't see him often. We were raised old school- you kept your sex life to yourself.
The old days...too bad they're gone.
