“If Obama were a man of personal conviction, and sensibilities it seems to me he would realize that conflict exists based upon his personal convictions, and tactfully withdraw from the commencement proceedings.
His apparent insistance of participating at the Notre Dame proceedings seems to me a quite In your face disturbance intended to mock the religious of our society.
This is an extremely shallow President.”
I was just getting ready to say exactly this. So very true. Obama has not one ounce of sensibilities. He sees this as a political opportunity and he’s going to milk it for all it’s worth.
When you have your religion on Sunday but live the rest of the week like hell, that is called hypocrisy. Jesus said “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm- neither hot nor cold- I am about to spit you out of my mouth. " Revelation 3:15-16. The problem isn't with Notre Dame in this one instance, the problem is with Christianity as a whole. Not just Catholics, not just Protestants. We have too many lukewarm Christians. Too many lukewarm churches.
As to my first question, I understand the outrage of many Catholics, but I have watched all of Christianity go lukewarm for many years. It is not just abortion, it is our entire culture. Are we willing to make the decision to go “hot” for Jesus, in all things?
>> he knows he will no longer have anything to fear from the Church, which was the one force that could have opposed him.
He won’t have anything to fear, eh?
With all due respect, I think you’re confused about just Who constitutes the Power in the Church of Jesus Christ.
>> The Notre Dame doctoral robe that Obama will likely wear at the speech bears two images of the schools coat of arms, one on both the right and left chest areas.
It’s no problem. Michelle can just safety pin embroidered pictures of Che Guevara and Vladimir Lenin over them.
“President Barack Obama is expected to wear the traditional doctoral robe featuring the cross and prayer of the Virgin Mary when he speaks at the University of Notre Dame next month”
The robe will likely burn his skin like acid. The cross will torment brightly and hurt his eyes. A few cloves of garlic worn by the masses will also be effective in sending him scurrying for the exits and into the comforting darkness of the night.
Where have you been? That train left the station a long time ago.
Will AF1 buzz the Gold Dome before or after he speaks?
He has a lot to fear eternally, but in terms of temporal power, I think he’s got the bishops beat, or will have if he pulls this off.
This could have a serious impact on the Church and the lives of US Catholics in the near future.
If Obama were a man of personal conviction, and sensibilities it seems to me he would realize that conflict exists based upon his personal convictions, and tactfully withdraw from the commencement proceedings.
His apparent insistance of participating at the Notre Dame proceedings seems to me a quite In your face disturbance intended to mock the religious of our society.
This is an extremely shallow President.

It’s arrogance partly. It;s also him putting his Muslim religion in the face of Catholics.
Certainly any man with integrity would not go,wearing a robe that bears a prayer to the Blessed Mother is a great insult that should not be allowed ,even by Father Jenkins. Who ignores his faith and it’s leaders.
Any Catholic that attends this graduation is no Catholic in my mind. It should be boycotted.
how the heck is the closet-muslim narcissist going to wear a robe with a Catholic saint and prayer when he had “IHS” covered up when he spoke at Georgetown?
My prediction:
Obama cancels at last minute to deal with (INSERT MANUFACTURED CRISIS HERE).
Otherwise he might get third degree burns from the cross on the garment.
What is needed is leadership from the Vatican. The Holy Father should in no uncertain terms denounce Obama being honored in this way.
