I think McCain came within a whisker of changing parties over his loss to Bush. He was furious, and spent the better part Bush’s two terms in office, talking down his policy.

During the first year Bush was in office, McCain was practically a full time member of the talking head shows on Sundays. He had no compunction to be a party player. It was the John McCain show non-stop. And his foreign policy advocacy was what folks listened to up until 09/11.

I can’t believe John wouldn’t switch parties if the right circumstances came about. He’s just too much of a turncoat.

That’s how I see it, but what the hey...

Yea, I think youre right about McCain. The only thing I wonder is would he bother if he was 80 yrs old and dying of Cancer with a year or two left ? Maybe he would, Specter definitely would.

I think that’s a fair question to ponder. Thanks for the mention. I can’t say for sure about McCain on that level.

While the staffer told us she didn't know where Specter was, the senator was on Laura Ingraham's national radio program, defending the stimulus bill and snidely calling her "young lady" when she challenged him.

Not a good idea to lie to Melanie Morgan.

But he probably keeps his staff in the dark. I wonder how many of them stayed on?

I think his base of support has been eroding ever since he voted for that stupid porkulus bill because every damn taxpayer in his base and around this country was paying full attention to that entire floor debate. Since then, he’s been all about salvaging 28 years of backstabbing buffoonery.
