Two deputies were murdered over the weekend by a member of the Florida National Guard who was “severely disturbed” by the election of Barack Obama, and believed the US government was conspiring against him.

Charles Johnson of LGF has apparently gone mad.

He appears to get into fights with anyone who dares question his political ideology, he attacks Christians simply because they believe in the Bible, he attacks US veterans as being part of a 'Right Wing Extremists' and 'militia' groups, categorizes anyone who questions the reliablity of vaccines as kooks, and trashes Bush, Glenn Beck, O'Reilly, and Hannity.

He might as well be posting on Democrat Underground or DailyKos with his unhinged rants. IMHO.

I wanted to log in to LGF, and post my true thoughts, just to get banned, but, I don’t want to give Charles’ site a hit count.

He decided that defending America is less important than bashing Christians.

He was never a conservative blogger. He was like Ron Silver, a national security liberal. He was never conservative and never claimed to be conservative, the liberals/lefties tried to demonize him that way.

Charles Johnson, I believe, is an honest seeker of the truth. It doesn't matter so much, that he comes up with different answers than I do, I can live very well with honest disagreements.

I really don’t believe he is a ‘honest seeker of truth’. I feel that he never admits when he is wrong. He does not intellectually examine a subject but heaping scorn and hate upon the subject or target of his post. His favorite tactic is straw man arguments and forcing labels that are not realistic to demonize. Its interesting from a pathopsychology point of view how he sees the world.

>and believed the U.S. government was conspiring against him.

With the flagrant abuses of power, the horrendous abridgment of rights even/especially those listed in the Bill of Rights, by all three branches of government, it’s hard to think that it has the best in mind.

Judicial Branch:
— The 25 Jun 05 legalization of larceny under the guise of “Imminent Domain”.
— The multiply rejected/ignored concerns/lawsuits over Obama’s eligibility.
— The failure to try ACORN in its multistate registration fraud allegations.

Executive Branch:
— The encouragement to spend/accept bailout/stimulus monies.
— The failure to prosecute:
a) ACORN
b) Congressmen
c) Government Employees
d) Illegal Aliens
— The diplomatic-failure/offenses of allies.
— The DHS report.

Legislative Branch:
— The mere suggestion of a retroactive & punitive tax on AIG {& co’s} bonuses, as it violates the Constitution on AT LEAST four counts. (Possibly eight, by my count.)
— The issuance of laws/rules that they are not bound to themselves:
a) Tax Laws
b) Tax EVASION laws {Rangle, anyone?}
c) Perjury laws {Think Frank & Reid}
d) Slander / Libel Laws {Think Murtha}

In short, the government’s abridgment of rights (travel, security against unwarranted search/seizure, arms, equal justice under the law, right to opinion/speech, right to dissent/demand-redress, right to protest, etc)

{I have a friend who thinks that the government is basically good, and not corrupt enough to warrant caution/concern; funny thing, though, is he self-describes as being nearly pathologically-trusting.}

Then again, I might be a paranoid schizophrenic... we shall see who is right.

So, one mentally disturbed person commits murder and everyone on the Right is to blame, huh? How “tolerant.” Unfortunately, that’s par for the course these days with the Left.

Oddly, LGF was the only news site blocked at my job (before the change). When I was working of course.

I’ve read LGF for a long time. Charles Johnson is passionate and he does become obsessive, say on the creationism issue, but I don’t see him lieing or making stuff up or smearing people to smear people.
