Their argument will be that it doesn’t mean anything because that is part of their culture and while don’t like it we need to respect it, but that doesn’t excuse the horrible things that the evil Bush did to these poor people...

It is ridiculous, indeed! There is NO comparison between what we do and what really evil men do.
(My own husband was waterboarded as part of his military survival training. He is genuinely concerned about our national security these days.)
