Torture, Al-Qaeda Style
Drawings, tools seized from Iraq safe house in U.S. military raid
MAY 24--In a recent raid on an al-Qaeda safe house in Iraq, U.S. military officials recovered an assortment of crude drawings depicting torture methods like "blowtorch to the skin" and "eye removal." Along with the images, which you'll find on the following pages, soldiers seized various torture implements, like meat cleavers, whips, and wire cutters. Photos of those items can be seen here. The images, which were just declassified by the Department of Defense, also include a picture of a ramshackle Baghdad safe house described as an "al-Qaeda torture chamber." It was there, during an April 24 raid, that soldiers found a man suspended from the ceiling by a chain. According to the military, he had been abducted from his job and was being beaten daily by his captors. In a raid earlier this week, Coalition Forces freed five Iraqis who were found in a padlocked room in Karmah. The group, which included a boy, were reportedly beaten with chains, cables, and hoses. Photos showing injuries sustained by those captives can be found here. (12 pages)
Go to the site for the illustrations and photos of victims. And remember that some of our military has probably endured some these atrocities without a word or outrage from our press.
Even though this is from 2007, someone should send these pics to Pelosi, Reid and Leahy to show them exactly what real torture is.
I really don’t like bumping something like this. But the darn propaganda on our water boarding as being torture sounds like a water balloon fight in comparison.
I’m sure this story will be used as counterpoint by the MSM when the pictures of U.S. “abuses” are released by the Obama Abomination er... Administration. /s
I found it and posted if for that purpose, but I don’t have any confidence about its dissemination unless we push it.
What you’re stating is not an opinion; it’s a fact.
The main stream media, generally speaking, is not interested in the methods our enemies use to torture/kill people.
And so it goes...
Because if they did mention that stuff, we might actually start getting angry at our enemies again.
Another thought is that this was found in a DOD file. Perhaps the Obama administration could be compelled to release this item with the other photos that they are going to release.
Cheney would.
You people dont understand. If we dont waterboard, our enemies will stop using those devices.
Didnt you hear that part?
We are being governed by a pack of fools.
No, but I’m sure they’ll use these images as backdrop for stories about us committing “torture.” Kind of like the way they have an image of a handgun while related the story of a stabbing.
” You people dont understand. If we dont waterboard, our enemies will stop using those devices.
Didnt you hear that part?
We are being governed by a pack of fools.”
Well stated. Put them in the hands of these barbarians for 5 minutes and then we would see the most lax set of guidelines designed to “ protect them”.
After all that’s who this is all about, not our brave troops
No pictures of icky caterpillars?

We tried to push this declassified doc and the MSM sat on it. I’m sure the ‘anti war’ movement wouldn’t have had as much legs if it hit the airwaves.
Warning, the PDF is really upsetting.

Thats why this is the prime example of torture and waterboarding is not. I totally agree that the images are disturbing. Just like the pictures of the poor souls diving out of the WTC.
The same with Abu Ghraib. The anti war people trump up the fear the Iraqi citizens had of Abu Ghraib to keep the distrust alive. Abu Ghraib was one of Saddam’s torture play pens.

They even staged stunts to make Bush look like the evil dictator to reduce his backing of liberating Iraq.

Maybe there is a way for Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity to amplify the effort.
I made sure to get it up on my blog. Double linked it to the Smoking Gun.
Evil dictators just need a hug, you know.
