Congratulations on your son’s enlistment, God Speed!
My daughter (11 yrs old now) asked many, many questions after we watched the a 9/11 special about 2 years ago. I was very upfront with her about how there are evil people in this world and how horrible 9/11 was for the country. I’m so sorry your kids were so exposed, it is still brings tears to my eyes.
I have to no problem with discussing 911 and terrorism with kids, but asking them to color pictures of burning buildings is both trivializing and downright creepy.
It’s just a tool to use if your kid doesn’t understand or is confused about 9/11. Like someone posted I am sure it helped kids that were highly affected right after it happened.
