Carlos Slim is Lebanese. He’s done very well in Mexico, though, and is your typical left-wing ultra-rich guy.

The Sus move, canning sportswriters..makes NO sense..that’s one of the only remaining reasons that people still have to buy & read the local newspaper..in depth coverage of local sports teams. I loathe the Globe, but as a life-long Red Sawx fan...Globe sports on the net is a must read for me every morning..

Hey Pinch, if Carlos is sooo altruistic, why’s he charging you credit card interest?

Uh, Pinch? I get a better rate on my credit cards. All of them. And you're in the bag to this guy for a cool quarter billion buckadingdongs. Apparently somebody on the Board at the NY Times thought this was a good deal. And these guys have the nerve to act superior toward AIG and Enron!
