Anita Dunn heads to the White House (cozy=wife of 0's eligibility atty, Robt. Bauer)

Anita Dunn, a veteran Democratic strategist and top adviser on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, will take over as White House communications director at least temporarily, according to sources familiar with the move.

The powerful post is being vacated by Ellen Moran this week, and Obama officials want to fill it quickly.

Dunn will start working next week in an interim capacity until the president settles on a permanent replacement for Moran.

Dunn had initially avoided entering the administration with her fellow campaign veterans. But she has continued to serve as a key outside adviser, regularly joining strategy sessions with other members of Obama’s inner circle, and was an obvious choice for members of the close-knit West Wing.

Dunn declined to discuss the move.

As a longtime ad-maker who just worked on a presidential campaign, Dunn possesses strengths in how to project a message and manage never-ending news cycles that are pivotal to the job.

“She is a very skilled communications strategist and a great message planner,” said David Plouffe, who managed the Obama campaign. “She has the complete trust of the president and of David Axelrod.”

On the campaign, Dunn was part of a small group that did long-range planning. She also helped prepare outside advocates for the campaign. She’ll continue to play a role in both now at the White House.

Dunn actually worked for an Obama opponent in his 2004 Senate race before joining Obama in 2006 to run the then-Illinois senator’s Hopefund PAC.

She has worked with nearly every other top Obama aide, including the group that came from former Sen. Tom Daschle’s political family. This includes current White House deputy communications director Dan Pfeiffer, who has worked with Dunn on a series of campaigns.

Since Obama became president, Dunn has returned to her media consulting firm, Squier Knapp Dunn, but regularly offered advice to the White House and participated in Wednesday evening pizza-and-politics sessions at Axelrod's apartment.

This won’t be Dunn’s first White House job. She worked as an intern in the Carter White House for chief of staff Hamilton Jordan before joining a number of campaigns, including those of former Sens. Bob Graham and Bill Bradley. She also did a stint on Capitol Hill, working there for Bradley, and has served as a top adviser to one-time White House aspirant Sen. Evan Bayh.

"Anita is one of the best in the business," said fellow Democratic strategist Mo Elleithee, who worked with her on Bradley's presidential bid and in that fateful Illinois Democratic Senate primary in 2004. "She’s extraordinary in her ability to frame complex policy issues in ways that are relevant to people’s everyday lives, and there aren’t many out there who are better at driving message."

Preferring to keep the focus on her candidates, Dunn typically shuns the spotlight. She is married to Obama campaign attorney-turned-DNC counsel Robert Bauer, but she has dismissed the notion that the pair are part of the new Washington elite.

"The idea of power couples is a very retro idea,” Dunn told the Washington Post earlier this year.

1. Where was Anita Dunn born? Do you think that if a reporter asked her where she was born, she would refuse to tell him like President Obama has continuously refused to come out and tell us, the public, officially where he was born?

2. Birth hospital: If a reporter asked her to name her birth hospital, do you think she would refuse to tell him like President Obama has refused over and over again to tell us, the public, the name of his birth hospital?

3. Anita Dunn's Eligibility for job: Does she have to present her long form birth certificate when she fills out her government job forms, or can she refuse to present it like President Obama refuses over and over again to present his long form birth certificate from Hawaii?

4. A related topic, Anita Dunn's lawyer husband Bauer: Is it legal for President Obama's campaign fund to pay lawyers like lawyer Bauer---who is supposedly President Obama's personal lawyer and who is the husband of this Anita Dunn---to defend President Obama in his many eligibility court cases across the country?

5. My point is this: I thought that because Obama is defending himself as a private citizen in all these eligibility cases across the country, he would have to use private funds,not campaign funds.

Wait a minute.
Am I clearly understanding that the new White House communications director is married to the lawyer that is getting paid to stifle Obama eligibility/BC cases?
And she sees no conflicts here?
Sorry - I can’t keep track of all the Obama criminal parties but it just seems to me that this one is a little bizarre.

Why do liberals always look so beatup, used, abused, wornout, pasty, and downright ugly?
I thought they all ate fruits and nuts?
Think about that the next time you see Helen Thomas or Michael Moore!

I thought Wednesday evening was reserved for cocktails at the White House?

From Obama Chic: Inside the White House Cocktail Parties: "Indeed, White House social secretary Desiree Rogers has announced that the Obama administration plans to make Wednesday night social events a tradition."

The modern Nazi movement .............................. national socialism, right?

Was the word and concept of Nazi sucessfully destroyed as 'legitimate' during that brief period when President Bush was acused of being one? (Apparently that was the intent back then ..... get the word out, destroy it .. and now it can't be used effectively)

BS?

When was the last time anyone 'sinned' ?

I rest my case.

Even more insane, the DOJ’s involved .. our money .. to defend the govt. in this eligibility suit.

~~~~
Mario Apuzzo, attorney for Plaintiffs in Kerchner v. Obama, made note of the Defendant’s second request for a time extension in this case:
Motion to Extend Time to Answer, Move, or Otherwise Respond & Declaration of Counsel has been filed by the defendants. The defendants have already had over two months to answer, move, or otherwise respond. As of the current deadline of May 5th they will have had 75 days from the time they were served to respond. In our opinion, that is an adequate amount of time to answer or move or other wise respond. An objection will be filed to this second request by the defendants for a further extension of time.
As Mr. Apuzzo noted on April 13, the government is always given 60 days by which to respond to any complaint brought against it. On that same date, the federal government requested an additional 15 days by which to respond, making the deadline May 5, 2009 for any motions on their part. Subsequently, per paragraph 10 of the motion, the Defendants have requested an additional 20 days to respond, making the would-be deadline June 1, 2009.
Of the reasons for the time extension request, Assistant US Attorney Elizabeth Pascal mentions that Vice President Dick Cheney and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have both requested the DOJ to represent them in this matter. Also, per paragraph 8, Attorney Pascal mentions:
“I was unaware that I could move for an extension of time to answer, move, or otherwise respond to the complaint pending the representation decision for those Defendants”
and that:
“The Department is still processing that request and determining which Congressional Defendants it will represent.”
