MIAMI - Immigrants and their families gathered at rallies across the country Friday to push for changes to U.S. immigration policy, but as a swine flu outbreak continued to spread, attendance at some events was smaller than organizers had hoped.

Where’s ICE?
Handcuffed and standing down due to the 0bama induced DHS love affair for everything that is anti-American.
Whenever I see the word ‘’immigrants’’ by itself in a headline I know the article is going to be a sob story about illegal aliens. Dead giveaway.
gee it seems the planned protests have no protesters in them, they can’t scare up any outrage over America’s unfair treatment of illegal aliens. Seems that with higher unemployment and inflation, the nation is in no mood for these Reconquista antics. Poor MSM, nothing to crow about on this fine May Day.
Trying to find my way around the snarled traffic caused by ILLEGAL ALIENS this afternoon really capped off the week.
I’ve never understood why people think blocking traffic in all directions wins over supporters. I hate them for life ... and the janitors unions who close down Wilshire Blvd.
Gets them on the local news. MSM loves it when janitors are protesting with angry signs. Doesn't matter to them if they are making more than the local PD patrol officer. All that matters is the common man outrage.
God I’m tired of this. They aren’t f’ing immigrants. They are ILLEGAL ALIENS.
Don't they mean "ILLEGAL" immigrants?
Maybe we need to listen to them and give them what they ask for, and adopt Mexicos Immigration Laws right away!
They want us to be more like Mexico, so we can start there.
“Organizers said they expected about 15,000 at the event, but the crowd appeared to be much smaller. “
Uh huh...gotcha...they said 300 people in Miami. But 850,000 to 1M on 4/15 that’s tens of thousands across the country. ARGH! We know the truth!
Ping!
Are illegal aliens in charge yet? How did they become so powerful in the eyes of the metrosexual pansies in the press?
One good way to get OUR message to our Representatives is to join NumbersUSA (FREE) and use their fax buffet. I sent 6 or 7 faxes this morning...might not seem like much, but at least today I feel like I did SOMETHING...rather than just my usual complaining ;)
I attached this PS....I got this information from AuntB...I think it is a very effective VISUAL:
DID YOU KNOW?
According to the (2000) U.S. Census Bureau, AMNESTY for 12 to 18 million illegal aliens would be equal to the COMBINED populations of the States of :
Wyoming,
Vermont,
Alaska,
North Dakota,
South Dakota,
Delaware,
Montana,
Rhode Island,
Hawaii,
New Hampshire,
Maine,
Idaho,
Nebraska,
West Virginia,
New Mexico,
Nevada,
and the District of Columbia.
If we had The FairTax (see www.fairtax.org) those 20 million illegal immigrants would not be able to continue evading taxes. The FairTax eliminates the federal income tax, eliminates the IRS, and switches us to a national retail sales tax. Everyone would pay it, including tourists. There would be no payroll tax withholding, no Social Security tax withholding, no capital gains tax, no tax on dividends, no AMT, and no federal estate tax. 57,000 pages of IRS code, rules, forms, etc. would be thrown out the window. Savings and investment would encouraged and the economy would boom.

Here’s a little propaganda piece from south of the border sent out in the M3Report by our former border agents. The rest of the report is interesting....murder is still rampant by the cartels....wouldn’t it be nice if the media actually talked about all the murder and mayhem in Mexico instead of this flu!

The immigration issue is about to resurface
The Obama Administration has announced that it is willing to once again take up the thorny issue of immigration this coming May, in search of a stable solution for a problem that awakens emotional reactions found in American society, but which cannot be left to Gods will, as if a question of high national interest in the great country of the North (sic) did not exist. Obama promised to deal seriously with this issue within a prudently short time after taking over, and that is what he is now attempting to achieve. President Obama still has sufficient fresh political capital; and, instead of rejoicing in maintaining his popularity intact, as a shallow leader would do, he proposes to invest that capital in the most complex areas to give them more possibilities of coming out ahead.
Though the complicated issue of the economy will of course continue to be the U.S.s main area of concentration as it will be practically everywhere, and our national case is an example of that issues such as immigration cannot wait, because it is directly linked with the economy. Those approximately 12 million irregular immigrants (sic) cannot remain in limbo, since that would mean the retention of a focus of tension and insecurity, not only for the United States but also for many countries of origin of those immigrants, whose individual monetary remittances are vital for many area economies. Let us hope that this time, and with the decisive impulse of the new American Administration, it will not enter that maze in which previous attempts have been lost.
There is no policy, anywhere that can be sustained if it isnt based on a clear principle of realism. And it isnt a question of doctrine, but of a strict common sense. Reality has its own logic, and to try to tie them to artificial criteria is not only useless but counterproductive. Extravagant ideas, such as building a fence along the very long American-Mexican border, are a pathetic example of that. Or, to a lesser degree, the idea of substituting the immigrants wish to go in search of a new life with a simple program of temporary work is also unsustainable.
The basic point of all this theme is of an eminently humane character. A migratory flow as intense and wide as takes place from our countries toward the United States is without a doubt due to important reasons as much in the countries of origin as that of destination. That is to say, nobody is doing anyone any favors, its just that each others needs are being reflected in reality. In our countries its a matter of searching for better living conditions and in the United States its about having a sufficient number of people to do work which the native population no longer carries out. These are the basic questions that any migratory reform must take up, understand and channel in order to be sustained.
Its not an easy task, and for that reason taking it up as soon as possible can be the key, when the Obama Administration still has initial freshness, despite the onslaughts it already receives.
They aren't immigrants, they're foreign invaders, alien to our nation and Constitution.
They have no political rights in our country. Does an invading army have any right to terrorize their victims?
