Stewart is such a liar. He called Harry Truman a war criminal at least three times in the Cliff May segment. He defended his position repeatedly. This was no slip of the tongue. He said what he meant and he meant what he said.
Cliff May had Stewart completely tied in knots. I heartily recommend watching all three parts of the may dissection of Stewart. It should be required viewing for anybody who agrees to go on the show.
For Stewart to go back now, after three days, to say he mis-spoke is an obvious lie. Apparently he thinks everybody will be too lazy to go back and see for themselves.
I agree completely. Although, I uderstand (could be wrong) that the part of the interview where Cliff confounds Stewart is not aired during the broadcast and was only available on-line.
This is the problems with fighting back on these pre-taped news-tainment shows (and broadcast news shows as well). Whenever our side scores a point, it's just edited out.
