Where are the Republicans?

I have bad news for you.

I have it on good authority that the congressional Republican leadership, if that is not an oxymoron, plans to give Barack Obama a pass on all of his major appointments.

They'll give them a bye.

They'll close their eyes, cover their ears and speak no evil against some of the most dangerous nominees for high posts in an administration in American history.

I'm talking about kooks and crazies like Cass Sunstein, the so-called "regulatory czar," who once proposed what can only be characterized as a "Fairness Doctrine" for the Internet including a notion for a mandatory 24-hour cooling-off period for sending angry e-mails. He believes animals have the right to file lawsuits, thinks hunting should be banned and sees no limits to government's power to restrict the sale and possession of firearms.

It is also the fault of a compliant MSM outlets. And our schools and lazy parents haven’t helped. It also is the PC curse at work. And last but not least, the fact that millions of Evangelicals, Pubs, Indies failed to vote because somehow they though McCain would be worse than Obama. That was absurd and now we can see the outcome plain and simple. No Dem liberal socialist pacifist is better than almost any Pub, except a jerk like the Senator from RI , Chaffey!!! LOL Or perhaps jumping Arlen!

All they had to do, I said, was show opposition. They couldn't stop it, but they could distinguish themselves from the ruin that is coming to America. When the dust settled, they could honestly say, "We were against it. We opposed all of it."

They have oppossed it all. Or vast majority of them have. For example, the Obama/Reid/Pelosi bloated 2010 budget resolution passed both houses of Congress WITHOUT A SINGLE REPUBLICAN VOTE. As the author said, they can't stop it.

They do need to find a way to get that message out though. The MSM won't do it, and Fox and talk radio can't carry the whole load.

Third Party strategies are stupid and suicidal.

What is stupid and suicidal is to toss the ball back to the very same moderates that have cost us so dearly. Republican leadership has *not* changed hands. They have simply rearranged the deck chairs.

Yet here you come, an advocate for rewarding their treasonous behavior, by giving them the trust to complete what may be our last play. What in the name of all that's holy would possibly make you think they would not betray that sam trust again, a mere two years later?

We are down to the basic issue of whether or not we are even a sovereign nation, a matter which the Republicans and the Democrats stand equally complicit in trying to subvert at it's most intrinsic levels...

And yet you call those reaching for honest statesmen who will STAND and FIGHT for our Constitution and our sovereignty "stupid and suicidal"? How absurd!

They’re with their fellow socialists in the Democrat party.

I agree, most of the old timers are. TERM LIMITS DAMN IT! When all is said and done, who knows when, I suspect we will have another civil war in this country. Who ends up with control is anybody’s guess. My guess is the military takes control until order can be restored and new elections held. I hope that I’m wrong.

We now live in a Constitutional Empire run by Socialists.

A contradiction in terms. If they were following the Constitution, it could not be socialist. Instead we are living, or shortly will be, in a People's Democratic Republic, or if you prefer a People's Republican Democracy.

Run conservatives in the primary, to oppose the RINO’s and moderates that you do not like.

Reagan lead a FAR more liberal GOP than what we have today.

The Party has grown MORE conservative over the years, but EVERY political Party will contain human beings who will not always agree with you.

Third Parties do NOT solve any problems, they only create new problems.

Only 3 Republicans voted against Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an ACLU radical, feminist, communist law professor.

Why should 2009 be different than 1993? Most elected Republican officials agree secretly (and some not so secretly) with the Leftist agenda.

We need better representatives. But who in their right mind would want the job?

But be encouraged by the Tea Parties - really - as I think they are the start of a broader movement. Let’s tap into that energy to get more people charged up about what’s best for the nation, and translate that into people elected in a way that isn’t ‘go along to get along!

We’ve got June 14th Flag Day, June 27 (non-holiday Tea Party) and July 4th Tea Party scheduled in and around the Wa State Capital in the next 60 days...

Again I ask: Why then is the Republican Party so determined to become one?

I think we would do well to pick those who don’t want the job, actually.

How about this?

This country has been marching towards Socialism for decades and no one has step up to stop it.

Therefore, every member of Congress and every Presidential administration during that time period, IS TO BLAME!

Oh, look, yet another thread trashing Bush and the Republicans. Leave it to the Third Party zombies to inspire the Congressional GOP to greatness!

Congratulations on turning FR into a dead zone.

Just because you've splashed on a little right wing cologne doesn't mean you stink any less than Michael Moore.

We have sorting out to do with the Tea Party movement, there are now TWO of them, with somewhat different goals. If you do not want a constitutional convention be very careful who you support!

I hope all of this is sorted out and becomes clear in the very near future.

I want no part of Mr. Leahy and his constitutional convention baloney.

Do you allow Obama to “speak” for the entire country?

I think the answer to that is, probably, “NO” -—

Why, then, do you allow any particular Republican to speak for the entire Party?

Challenge the moderates in the Primary. Keep pressure on all of our elected Republicans.

There is absolutely NO CHANCE that you will get a single “Independent” or “Third Party” person elected to Congress next year.

Obviously, then, there is NO CHANCE that any “Third Party” will be able to control Congress without any MEMBERS even getting ELECTED to Congress.

Sorry, we’re not blockheads.

There is nothing wrong, yet, anyway, with pointing out facts. George Bush is not perfect, and is not a protected species when criticism is due! Had he listened more during his term of office things might be much different now.
