In other words, I believe he works mostly to promote himself and preserve the assets he has accrued as a brilliant entertainer. It is clear from his incessant ramblings about his wealth and the inveterate name dropping so typical of an insecure person who has never grown past the indignities he suffered as a fat dork in his youth.

Well put. Limbaugh is God to a great many people at FR, but I've always disagreed. I'll listen to him in the car if I'm running errands during his show, although half the time I'm yelling at the radio because he's wrong. If I'm home during his show, I make no attempt to listen. He's the past, not the future.

I wonder if the 'assault weapons' ban would have passed if we had used the correct term 'defense weapon' instead.
Impenitent use of this term may have shifted the perception of the public and caused the AWB advocates to try to explain their reason for using the term assault.

Unfortunately we will probably get to test my theory before too long.

Think of Obama's proposed Brown Shirt youth force in line with having the Unification Board assign you a job at age 21. It becomes clearer that way.

That's the thought that came to my mind, too, when I read your discussion question: Obama's "community service" plans for students from middle school through college and senior citizens.

With the way things are going in DC, I wonder if there is an Atlas Shrugged bookclub on the liberal side... except they are using it as a “how to”.
