Pigs in Canada Contract Flu Virus
wsj ^

If the virus is indeed jumping from humans to animals and vice versa, as the Canadian case suggests, the seriousness of the disease will likely be heightened.

The development could cause new problems for the pork industry, which has so far gone to great lengths to distance itself from the current outbreak as it has hammered trade and consumer sentiment.

36,000 people die every year in the US from flu. While this may be an accurate number, the ones who die are almost all sick elderly people, people on chemo, people with HIV, other immunodeficiency diseases, etc. or very young babies. They are not otherwise healthy people 20 to 45. No one has yet to publish the number of otherwise healthy people who die in the US every year from flu. From what I can tell, about 2000 to 3000 young people in that age group do die from flu/pneumonia in a typical year, but these are mostly not previously healthy people. That sure does put this into perspective, doesn’t it? Why doesn’t the CDC give out that number instead of the 36,000? 36,000 is meant for everyone who picks up that number to spout in their repertoire of ignorance. There is an abundance of repertoires of ignorance going around. And another thing about this 36,000 number (if you believe them – see this article: http://tinyurl.com/davoy8 )…That number has already died this past flu season and whatever number die now will be in addition to those deaths. Will that number be double, triple, or more for this year?

Also, why is everyone saying the virus will go into the background for the summer? The 1918 pandemic started in March in the Northern Hemisphere and circled Europe (and the last time I looked, Europe was in the Northern Hemisphere) in the summertime!!! The first actual wave recorded the most deaths in June and July. It continued killing people into August and then spread throughout September until it boomed in October.

The refusal to close the orders will, of course, wipe out swine culture in North America.

Hard to figure this one out exactly ~ either Obama and his running dog lackeys are doing the bidding of their Moslem masters, or their PETA masters.

One or the other eh!

Don't Fall for the Hype!!!

Swine Flu — It’s Not the Killer You Think It Is

Only 7 swine flu deaths, not 152, says WHO

It's the flu, folks, not the plague

What a seriously inaccurate and irresponsible piece of “journalism” this is. Stating that this case indicates the virus is jumping from human to animal “and back”, when absolutely NOTHING about this case indicates that it went “back” to humans from the infected pigs. Lies like these can and do contribute to panic and hysteria, which can result in the irrational slaughter of pigs.

That author should be reprimanded by his/her editors - but for that matter, the editors should have known better in the first place.
