Why women are leaving men for other women....

Expert: More women are in relationships with other women

Some leave husbands or boyfriends for other women

Researchers study whether women's sexuality is less fixed than men's

Professor: Sexual fluidity is not something women can control Lately, a new kind of sisterly love seems to be in the air. In the past few years, Sex and the City's Cynthia Nixon left a boyfriend after a decade and a half and started dating a woman (and talked openly about it).

Certainly nothing is new about women having sex with women, but we've arrived at a moment in the popular culture when it all suddenly seems almost fashionable -- or at least, acceptable.

Statistics on how many women have traded boyfriends and husbands for girlfriends are hard to come by. Although the U.S. Census Bureau keeps track of married, divorced, single, and even same-sex partners living together, it doesn't look for the stories behind those numbers.

But experts like Binnie Klein, a Connecticut-based psychotherapist and lecturer in Yale's department of psychiatry, agree that alternative relationships are on the rise.

I thought the narrative was that increased acceptance of homosexuality and lesbianism wouldn't encourage more of it. Apparently that was a lie.

Bingo. Once the stigma of immorality and irresponsibility is erased, hedonism becomes a runaway train.

"We found that women's sexual desire is less rigidly directed toward a particular sex, as compared with men's, and it's more changeable over time," says the study's senior researcher, J. Michael Bailey, Ph.D. "These findings likely represent a fundamental difference between men's and women's brains."

He is safe to say this because of the politically protected speech on gay topics.

But if he had said exactly the same thing ("These findings likely represent a fundamental difference between men's and women's brains.") about math scores, or engineering skills, or anything else, he would be burned at the stake.

It’s not surprising to me at all. I think it’s far less taboo for women to be bisexual than it is for men. Women are all about having options so why should they limit themselves to only half the population?

Sexual fluidity is not something women can control...

Horse Hockey. They're looking for the next taboo. Leaving their boyfriends or husbands for another man is so passe, you understand, and not at all the 'sophisticated' thing to do.

This must not be new - like the 1930’s Cole Porter song says, “When mothers pack and leave poor father/Because they decide they’d rather be tennis pros/ anything goes.” In context of the song, the “tennis pros” bit sounds suspicious!

what is really bizarre is the homosexual couples that look identical. As if they were dating themselves. Very, very odd and I have seen it quite often.

Yep, there always has to be some celebrity name dropping for the lowest common denominator crowd to be able to relate.

I think homosexuality is, at it's base, narcissism.

In any case, the end result is usually the same, a weakening and then extermination of a society within 2 generations.

Exactly. If homosexuality were genetic, all the homos would be gone within a couple of generations.

But it's not genetic. It's a mental disorder. Homos have to be created by society every generation.

I see it constantly (San Francisco). The reason is simple, they are in love with themselves.

I don’t blame them. Most women are more attractive. I wouldn’t want to crawl in bed with some guy’s hairy @$$.
