WASHINGTON (AP) President Barack Obama has told a leading Senate Republican he would not nominate a radical or extremist to the Supreme Court.
Sen. Orrin Hatch said Monday that the president called him to discuss the nomination but did not provide names of anyone under consideration. Hatch is a longtime member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and is influential among Republican senators on judicial nominees.
The Utah Republican said there could be a major Senate fight if Obama "nominates someone contrary to what he told me." But Hatch said he takes the president at his word.

Oh well; I feel so much better know that he “promised”. AHHHH what alternate universe did I wake up in?
uh-huh.
And he believed him?
Oh, he PROMISED. And we know now after 100 days of misery just how much weight The First Thug’s promises hold.
Kinda reminds me of Stephie Stephanopolous when he once told a reporter that his boss,President Billy Bob,was “keeping the promises he meant to keep”.
Oh, OK.
I was worried for a minute there.
Of course, "radical" to "Obama" is somebody like Lin Piao was to Mao, so Orrin - take it whence it comes, OK?
Obama has zero credibility. I’ve never believed a word he’s said.
Obama thinks people like Bill Ayers are just “activists” and “community organizers”. “Radical” depends on how you define your terms, and we’re stuck with Obama’s defintion. So he will think he kept his promise to Hatch not to nominate a radical even if he nominates Bernadine Dohrn.
Of course he isn’t going to nominate a “radical” to the Supreme Court. He considers Bill Ayers middle of the road. The only people he consider radical are those who believe in the U.S. Constitution, the rights of the individual, and the rights of the unborn.

"President Barack Obama has told a leading Senate Republican he would not nominate a Republican or conservative to the Supreme Court"
radical = conservative
extremist = pro-life or Constitutionalist

And he (Hatch) believes him? What a dweeb. If the wusspublicans are truly this stupid, they deserve to be extinct.
Obama said that Bill Ayres is “just an ordinary guy in the neighborhood.” At least I THINK he said it, since I just checked and Google now seems to have thrown this phrase down the memory hole.
This is one of those “low risk” promises. Like promising not to nominate a first grader, a person from an insane asylum, a dead person, or Kim Jong Il.
The STUPID party
“The Utah Republican said there could be a major Senate fight if Obama “nominates someone contrary to what he told me.””
Fight him with what, spitballs? Once Franken-stein gets in they can do as they please.
Obama promised...
