Specter joined the Republican Party in the '60s Was he a 'Rat before he decided the GOP would be blessed with his presence?
The 60's don't seem like a good time to be a Republican. What advantage was it for Specter?

Not only was he a Rat before he joined the GOP, he is famous for the infamous “magic bullet” theory for the Warren Commission investigating the JFK assassination.
He was a winner even in 1964.
