I guess it depends on where you are getting your info from. But yeah, they are still operating under a system of centralized control over the means of production, have human Rights policies that would even make a Berkely resident upset, and have zero intention of changing anything from what I’ve seen over the last ten years.
Centralized means of production? Maybe that was true in 1985. Even the state industries are quasi capitalistic. China is authoritarian but so are a lot of places. Heck, as we speak, Christian converts are under threat of the death penality in Afghanistan....and nobody particularly cares. The Chinese, for all their faults, don’t do that!
