Why is this good news? Isn’t the idea to elect a Republican. I live in Northeaster Ohio near PA...I do not believe Toomey can win a statewide election.

Haven’t you learned from the RINOs what happens when we run ‘moderates’? First, you at least advance the conservative argument with a conservative candidate, even if they lose. But secondly, all the RINOs do is stab us in the back (like Specter). We are better off cleaning out the dead wood.

First good decision he’s made in 8 years.

I have learned what happens when you run the wrong candidate for a certain demographic...a moderate could win in Pennsylvania...a conservative very unlikely.

Sure, we cleaned over 50 seats out of the house...how many Senators and are now in the minority with no end in sight...happy days.

Good...I was starting to think he might have been growing tired of the family he left DHS to spend more time with.

“...even if they lose”. What a genius. Even the most liberal Republicans vote with their caucus more times than not. Losing this seat to the democrats makes it that much harder to get back the majority. Oh, yeah, you think it’s okay to lose.

Yeah well, Ohio was lost this year. I worked hard for McCain. Some of the GOP who’s doors I knocked on won’t be back.

If you are calling me a turncoat...then go pound sand...if you speak in general...then how about this in order to stop the Dems, we have to win. Losing sucks and leads to nothing good. I do not believe we can win without moderates.

I'd rather have Ridge than Specter, but with them both this close, and the D brand likely to be in much disfavor 18 months from now, thanks to ghastly deficits, who knows how many unpopular initiatives, and the desire for some balance, either one should crush specter.

GO PAT!!!
