The total number of Muslims is huge, a little more than one fifth of the world's populaton. The growth rate of the Muslim population, which averaged 1.9 between 2000 and 2006, is also far higher than the world's population growth rate, which averaged 1.22% in the same period. I saw that and that is why I posted this. Those statistics do not appear to be correct on that video. If you keep googling Muslim and fertility you will find they are not backed up by reality. That video is apparently scaring people for no real reason.

That statistics in that video do not appear to stand up. they would need to be better documented for me to swallow them.
The statistics given in this video are disturbing to say the least. Alarming is the best word, as it seems to suggest there is no reversing the trend.

It is all very interesting...and may well explain some things going on...like immigration policies for example. The Mexicans have larger families and bring our population ratio up. We natives on the other hand, have been aborting our young at a million a year for many years..which is unsustainable for population growth. This is a wake-up call for sure.
The U.S. Center for World Mission estimated in 1997 that Christianity's total number of adherents is growing at about 2.3% annually. This is approximately equal to the growth rate of the world's population. Islam is growing faster: about 2.9% and is thus increasing its market share. At this rate, Islam would surpass Christianity as the world's main religion by 2023 CE.
Most Christian sources predict that Christianity will retain its numerical lead over Islam beyond the year 2025. For example, futurist John Gary stated in 1997: "In no probable statistical scenario reaching out to the year 2200, does Islam surpass Christianity in absolute number of adherents."
Those stats are 12 years out of date, but if you accept the figures in this article the growth rates in all religions don't seem to have changed much since then.
