Former Senator, TV star and presidential candidate Fred Thompson gives President Barack Obama a failing grade for his performance in his first 100 days in office.
In an exclusive Newsmax interview, the Tennessee Republican declared: In the most important areas that affect our country, that is our economy and national security, Id give him an F in both categories."

Domestically he is leading us down the road to economic disaster . . . Were going to be facing trillion-dollar deficits every year for as far as the eye can see. We cannot sustain that. Hes taken a tough situation and made it a whole lot worse.
Thompson also told Newsmax that because of Obama administrations policies that cater to the left wing, the dollar will ultimately be endangered, Americans will face runaway inflation and the dilution of their savings, and a minority of Americans will be left to shoulder the tax burden for a majority who pay no taxes.
On the national security front, Obama has given signs of weakness in his resolve to defend our country, Thompson said.
He takes lectures from foreign dictators. He does things that harm our national security, that harm our CIA, that will divide our country as weve never been divided before.

I gave same grades to zero, too, before his 100 days were finished.
Thanks Fred. Where were you when we needed you?
...Heard somewhere actors make good presidents, don’t believe that’s really true, but Freddie was my pick in the repub primaries. Bravo, former Sen. actor Thompson...
Fred, you could have stopped it.
...Correct me if I’m wrong Thompson ran in the primary, where were you???
...And you???
The deficits will be far more than a trillion a year. In ten years, a trillion a year will barely cover the yearly interest on our ten trillion $ national debt, much of it owed to Red China.
Correction: in ten years the national debt will be around twenty trillion.
As I recall he dropped out without winning a single state.
Uh, if you call what he did “run”. He more like ran FROM the primaries - one of the most reluctant “candidates” I’ve ever seen. He let our country down.
...Correct me if Im wrong Thompson ran in the primary, where were you???
You call what Fred did running.? It was a lackadaisical farce. I voted for him by the way even though his run was more like walking on a walker.
Depends on what point of view you are taking...when it comes to destroying America he surely gets an “A” plus!
Reluctantly, I agree. He was too laconic, too laid back; I got the impression his heart was never really in it.
Which unfortunately makes his assessment of The First Thug ring a bit hollow.
Much too kind, Senator.
I gave him a Z-
.
I didn’t forget. You beat me to it. I was going to post the same thing. It’s too bad, Fred would have been an outstanding President.
I wish Fred had the fire in the belly to really run. He is the antidote to the RINO ‘listening tour.’
