Democrats are split on how to deal with Acorn, the liberal "community organizing" group that deployed thousands of get-out-the-vote workers last election. State and city Democratic officials -- who've been contending with its many scandals -- are moving against it. Washington Democrats are still sweeping Acorn abuses under a rug.
On Monday, Nevada officials charged Acorn, its regional director and its Las Vegas field director with submitting thousands of fraudulent voter registration forms last year. Larry Lomax, the registrar of voters in Las Vegas, says he believes 48% of Acorn's forms "are clearly fraudulent." On Thursday, prosecutors in Pittsburgh, Pa., also charged seven Acorn employees with filing hundreds of fraudulent voter registrations before last year's general election.

In the stimulus bill passed by Congress, Acorn is eligible -- along with other activist groups -- to apply for $2 billion in funds to redevelop abandoned and foreclosed homes. Meanwhile, public records show that last spring the IRS filed three tax liens totaling almost $1 million against Acorn, most of which concerned employee withholding.

[A]corn's registration tricks may soon be unnecessary. Congressional Democrats are backing a bill to mandate a nationwide data base to automatically register driver's license holders or recipients of government benefits.
This "would create an engraved invitation for voter fraud," says Hans von Spakovsky, a former Federal Election Commission member, who points out that these lists are filled with felons and noncitizens who are ineligible to vote. Ironically, in light of its troubles with the law, Acorn was selected in March to assist the U.S. Census in reaching out to minority communities and recruiting census enumerators for the count next year.

Obama will make the cases disappear and all will be forgotten.
Mickey Mouse Sr. and Mickey Mouse Jr. voted twice in our district.
Criminal enterprises that serve Dear Leader will prosper in this new era.
Zero will protect them, he has to, they got him into the WH. Fraudulently, but they did.
How to manufacture a “coup d’etat.”
Glenn Beck has been covering ACORN this week and today his guests were two courageous women who discussed major corruption within ACORN's national leadership. Refusal to audit books, an employee who took mega $$$$ and continued to work for ACORN for another eight years among other things were mentioned. These women were among others who know much about the operation of this slimey organization. It appears many ACORN offices are run Chicago style, with money funneled into many different places so as to make the money trail near impossible to trace.
While the new federal budget took money away from border protection, injured and slain law enforcement officers and scanning of shipments at our nation's ports, ACORN was granted a bonanza to be divvied up despite multiple states finding major problems requiring investigation of this pet project of democrats and this administration.
ACORN needs to be hit with a nationwide RICO investigation. It’s nothing but a crime syndicate.
Didn’t Congress and Obama JUST GIVE ACORN BILLIONS OF DOLLARS????
We need to infiltrate ACORN. With that kind of money being tossed around they must be hiring SOME people.
Where are the rich CONSERVATIVES willing to invest some capital in our country’s future???
FreeRepublic has to go begging each quarter, while Soros funds MoveOn.org and does even worse things.
“Democrats are split on how to deal with Acorn, “
I call BS. Democrats aren’t split on this. They want to give them more money and power.
They are split on how to deal with the public on the issue of Accorn.
**Obama will make the cases disappear and all will be forgotten.**
But FReepers won’t forget. They will remember. BTW, don’t answer the door for the census takers/errrr ACORN workers.
Precisely!
There are many issues crying out for conservative politicians to unite and fight. Instead there are crickets chirping and the corruption continues (even though there are - according to Glenn Beck - at least eight people willing to talk about the unethical practices of national ACORN management).
Worth-repeating bump. BTTT.
Question:
Why did ACORN receive more than three billion dollars in federal money?
Until that question is answered, anything this current crop of politicos does is suspect.
IMHO
Where do you find that info? It doesn't seem to befound on the web. Isn't his more of the "Census" hysteria, and other distractions? If you checked facts, you'd find that ACORN is not getting $3 Billion. They are eligible to get some of the gum't money, but not all.
I am more interested in which of Zero's Dem cronies are cashing those other $787 Billion in checks...
"ACORN Voter Fraud Map? Looks pretty good to me."
