On the thorniest of political issues, President Obama has embraced the enforcement-first position on immigration that he criticized during last year's presidential campaign, and he now says he can't move forward with the type of comprehensive bill he wants until voters are convinced that the borders can be enforced.
Having already backed off his pledge to have an immigration bill this year, Mr. Obama boosted his commitment to enforcement in the budget released Thursday. The spending blueprint calls for extra money to build an employee-verification system and to pay for more personnel and equipment to patrol the border.

Seriously, the guy can lie to the left and right at the same time. He says Gitmo is closing but doesn’t close it. He does 90% of the damage of actually closing it by sending the wrong message to the enemy and releasing documents. But it’s 90% still there with troops and prisoners. And he smiles and tells both sides of the television screen that he is making America both safe and moral. It’s like a Roger Rabbit movie.
My eldest bro who is about 60 (not yet) actually follows that premise. Only a democrat can be conservative and only a republican can be liberal. It’s a lesson in media politics.

And, border fence funding has come to a halt because there was “not enough” in HIS trillions dollar “budget”.
No funding for the border fence. An end to raids on employers who hire illegals. And, I heard of a story that Napolitano actually flew some illegals back into the US who had been deported (!).
I hope it’s true that rank-and-file Democrats and the union stood with us to defeat the last immigration bill, or we’re screwed no matter what he says about a commitment to enforcement.
He has cut funding he cannot control directly, paying states back for incarcerating illegals, the only real effective measure.
Obama’s choice policies always have this hedge against the policy itself. He has no provable mandate and any of his stuff always puts the burden of proof on those questioning him.

They need the Latino vote in 2010 and 2012 you can bet, and ACORN will be in charge of ushering 30 million illegals into the system. The Democrats know that if they pull this off, they will never lose another election again. It will become a one party Socialism, the very instant Obama signs it into law.
