Obama administration officials say a final decision has not been made about where to relocate the 241 foreign nationals being held at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility and/or where to put them on trial...Some of the speculation has focused on the Albert V. Bryan U.S. Courthouse and Detention Center in Alexandria, which is in the district I represent in Congress...
Like those in any other congressional districts, we Virginians would rather not have terrorism suspects held and tried in our back yard. Should some of the detainees at Guantanamo be sent to the Alexandria courthouse, there is no question that people in the immediate vicinity -- more than 10,000 residents and workers during business hours -- would be affected... Often, though, doing the right thing is neither popular nor convenient.
By and large, Alexandrians are civic-minded people...They have shown this public spirit time and again. The "20th hijacker," Zacarias Moussaoui, who participated in planning the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the Pentagon, was held and prosecuted in the Alexandria courthouse. Others who have been brought to justice in the court include the "American Taliban" John Walker Lindh; Beltway sniper John Allen Muhammad; and spies Robert Hanssen and Aldrich Ames....
Taking the easy route and joining the chorus of those crying "not in my back yard" is appealing. But that's not the Alexandria I know and have represented in Congress for nearly 20 years...
But should President Obama determine that Alexandria needs to play a reasonably limited role in a nationwide effort to bring justice to the Guantanamo detainees and close this unfortunate chapter of American history, I am confident that Alexandrians will stand strong as they always have: gritting their teeth, stiffening their spines and carrying the load required...

Here , we can see where the American policy is extremely flawed. These “men” should have been sent to hell at the first glance. They should have never been prisoners. They are the enemy of democracy and free men, yesterday, today and in the future.
Thus I ask one question.....

I mean, where is the arguement and where is it going to go? Soon we are going to debate giving them American citizenship, rights , freedoms and social assistance until they are adapted to their new home. Oh and a psychologist to help explain their abusive upbringings.... give me a break!

I didn’t vote for B0 either, but this country is being destroyed on a daily bases. We are going to have to suck it up until the people who supported this loser come to the realization that they made a mistake. That’s the only way we are going to get rid of 0bama.

Here’s a thought, Mr Moron, all well as good to talk about civic duty and the right thing to do, you take the moral high ground but it costs you nothing, nothing at all. Instead, we, the local resident population, will actually have to live with these thugs. So here’s the deal, bring one into your home, or guest house, invite him to hang with you and the family, unescorted and unmonitored of course, then, after doing that maybe I will listen to what you have to say.

I’m sure voters in his district will love having their taxes pay for the fortress and security necessary to house these pukes. Can’t wait.
Security issues aside, this will make traffic in Old Town even more unbearably screwed up than it already it. The people who live in those new condos by the courthouse and those who work at the Patent Office will be under siege, and forget about going to Whole Foods. Add that to the mess at Eisenhower Ave., Telegraph Road and the Beltway and you have a recipe for chaos: You can’t get there from here.
I voted for McCain too and I live in NoVa.
And notice that several new apartment buildings have appeared near the courthouse with $2000 per month single bedroom apartments. Are these prices being driven up by apartments leased by legal teams that are gearing up for the inevitable? Can’t have the terrorist’s lawyers inconvenienced by traffic and security.
And don’t even think about driving there on a nice weekend. Argh!

He is a chump with no idea what he has unleashed on the city. All the whining about detainee treatment cannot change one simple fact: these are some seriously bad dudes with very ill intent who would kill anyone they can get hold of in an instant, because to them they are not killing people but purifying the world of non-Wahhabi fanatics. It will be a circus (complete with the liberal freak show) that will take years to adjudicate because the courts have no idea how they are going to go about trying terrorist detainees who are not American citizens. This is so insane that Mayor Bill Euille, a card-carrying liberal Democrat, has opposed having these detainees in ALexandria.
Never forget how much campaign money Moran raises from Islamic Middle Eastern interests that are, shall we say, suspect. Moran does nothing unless money is involved (whichis why an obscure congressman from Virginia is willing to take such crazy positions). How I know in my bones that one or more of these detainees has a connection with a heavy Moran campaign contributor. It’s happened before when Moran has taken extreme positions in favor of suspect Islamic interests (e.g. Moran’s insane anti-Semitic rhetoric on bills where he is outvoted 410-3).
What a brown-nosing scumbag!
