As U.S. travelers avoid Mexico as a destination, Tijuana tourism suffers
TIJUANA Avenida Revolución is nearly a ghost town now, with the global economic crisis and drug cartel violence slamming the Mexican tourism industry. With the swine flu scare, even more tourists are staying away.
On April 27, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a travel alert recommending U.S. travelers avoid all nonessential travel to Mexico. Even before that, the U.S. State Department, for more than a year, had a travel alert in place because of Mexico's drug cartel violence.

Whatever it is people used to cross the border into Tijuana to get seems readily available in the U.S. now, including whores, drugs, divorces and abortions. I’ve only ventured to Mexico once in the past 40 years and that was to buy freon for my truck.
I guess someday I may have to cross the border to buy incandescent light bulbs though.

Americans go to Tijuana for a cheap fun time. With narco wars an ongoing business we just are not going to go there. Or anywhere in Mexico.
Acapulco has shooting wars between the gangs, as do so many other Mexican cities? To hell with going to Mexico, I’ll go to Montana instead.
That’s what happens when a criminal enterprise and kleptocracy get out of control.
