He’s right but it doesn’t help our cause. Every poll shows most people dislike Cheney. I think we the base are the only ones who like him so it doesn’t help our electoral prospects one bit when he goes out there like this.

The liberal media can care less whether Cheney is right (i.e.: they would never admit such anyways).

To them, Cheney is attacking their ‘precious’ and as such, that is all they will concentrate on. In other words, as has already be exemplified by the liberal media, attack the messenger and ignore the message.

It takes a bigger man to say what is the right thing to do then to worry about polls. History will vindicate both Bush and Cheney, I doubt the same case will be made for the chosen one. He will be a one term wonder (think Jimmy Carter) and if the polls turn against him, he will probably resign rather then face a humiliating defeat in an election. His massive ego will not allow him to accept defeat.

Every poll shows most people dislike CheneyThe polls are not valid. We don't know that "most people dislike Cheney". The pollsters can't reach us folks that like Cheney as we are too busy at productive work to answer polls, to answer the telephone.

Just left this on the SF Gate website. My God, there are a lot of absolute whack jobs out there. I though Vermont was bad.
A lot of the people posting here are suffering from a severe case of Bush hating Syndrome. I think many of you think you can negotiate with terrorists and they will bargain in good faith. How incredibly naaive. Let me ask you all a question. If someone in your family kidnapped a member of your family or someone you love, and you knew a person who was involved, would you waterboard or use enhanced interrogations on them. I bet you would and with some of the hate you show for Bush, Cheney, et al. I know there is plenty of hate out there. These terrorists are not little school children. If you think Kaleed Shek Mohammed would tell us information with nice conversations, you are delusional. Wake up !!

Yeah, we definitely don't want people like Dick Cheney out there telling the truth if it's going to be unpopular...next thing you know Conservative politicians everywhere will be out there telling the truth and the press really won't like that.

The day we become afraid to tell the truth, is the day this nation is finished. I've had enough mealy mouthed "wanna-get-along" Republicans speaking and voting on things the way they think the polls tell them people want them to...time for Conservatives to develop a little backbone.

You shouldn’t have done that. Obama with his policies and the radical leftists in Congress are going to bring the entire nation down to infighting and destruction. You don’t want to be posting things like that. Not wise.
