Wanda Sykes has made a very good living by playing the role of an authentic African American voice in a variety of TV sitcoms and movies. Her wisecracking characters provide a certain amount of credibility to what would otherwise be a srictly white-bread affair.
I find it odd that the Obama White House appears to be using Wanda Sykes for essentially the same purpose...

Her voice is the most irritating thing I have ever heard. It’s worse than fingernails on a black board. I had to turn it off. Simply couldn’t listen a second longer.
