I certainly hope Republicans are not dumb enough to "believe in" evolution. I hope they are not dumb enough to "believe in" any scientific theory. Make a reasoned judgment as to whether the theory is the best scientific explanation for the phenomena, yes. Believe, no.

The one part where he was being honest was when he said evolution was a "belief" and an assumption. For liberals it is a belief and an alternative religion. It's not just a "theory" for them. Otherwise why would he be getting so upset and neurotic about it? Liberals get hysterical about it.
