The taxes will not pass.
It’s the Chicago Way.
These are the people who elect and re-elect Barbara Boxer, and vote overwhelmingly Democrat.
Forget about it.
“Breaking the union by bankruptcy would probably mean losing all federal money.”
Bring it on, can’t happen quick enough!!!
No bailouts, fire 3/4 of civil service workers, close all public schools!!!!
How about enforcing heavy fines on ALL employers, from families who employ gardeners and nannies, to factories and sweatshops, to food service?
Self-deportation. Paying for ICE guys to go door to door in a few select cities would be all you’d need. A great investment for California.
If a legislative body can work to create spending programs as most spend 90% of their time diddling in, then, by all means, that same legislative body can uncreate spending programs and spending levels.
The taxpaying citizen that still loves his/her country needs to stand up and scream this until the media covers the fact.
Continued handouts to illegals and other giveaway programs need to be the first to go, not to mention all the bilingual public school crap and 'enviro - give a Berkley grad a job' departments in CA. Of course no one talks about that in the news.
This one is going to be heard loudly, like Prop 13 was 30 years ago. Can’t wait for it to happen.
As far as the predictions for a ‘meltdown’ of Cali government, I say to them stop threatening.
Just do it.
“Bring it on, cant happen quick enough!!!”
I certainly agree, but those in charge on both sides of the political aisle would never let that happen.
I’ve read about this destructive cycle many times. No one with any power seems to want to stop it even though the long and short term effects are obviously destructive.
Very depressing.
Such a “start over” needs done nationally.
Probably, but that would quite literally be taxation without representation.
