Donald Trump, shameless self-promoter that he is, knows the cost to the dollar of bad publicity.
So Perez Hilton is out, Carrie Prejean stays, and Donald Trump does good work for reasons his own.
No one should forget that although Donald owns controlling interest in the pageant, NBC owns almost 50%. Donald sold it to them in 2002 when he moved the pageants from CBS to NBC.

What did they say about Hilton....I thought it was spineless of Trump not to denounce one of the judges for calling one of the contestants a ‘dumb bitch’. That is so over the top wrong, Trump should have condemned it the next day. Trump is a weasel.
I am so proud of her. I am even proud of Dnnald Trump. He really doesn’t seem to be ducking anything. He also said judge number 8 gave her consistantly poor marks.
I can tell you these girls were probably pre-screened and the judges knew all about ther beliefs.

I figure he thinks that Prejean is worth more publicity and notoriety than any possible replacement could be, but what the heck. At least he’s done the right thing—so far.

I don’t think suggestive modelling is consistent with a traditional lifestyle, but on the other hand, this was all blown out of proportion because of her answer. I never thought the question section was about the specific position you took on the issue , but rather how you presented that position. While I don’t think her original response was worth the highest score, I do think it was ridiculous for the twerp to award her a zero.
