Analysis: Cheney attacks may not help GOP (Once again, MSM claims speaking truth is attack on Obama)

To the chagrin, perhaps, of Republicans looking to rebuild the tattered party, Dick Cheney has grabbed the spotlight.

The recurring theme of the once-reclusive and largely unpopular former vice president: President Barack Obama has put Americans in danger of a new terrorist attack by promising to close the Guantanamo Bay prison and banning torture.

When Obama took office, former President George W. Bush went quietly to his new house in Texas, slipped intentionally into anonymity and honored protocol by staying silent about his successor.

But Cheney, widely remembered for heading to undisclosed secure locations at times of national crisis and for working invisibly behind the scenes, has done just the opposite.

“largely unpopular former vice president”

I believe that Cheney’s popularity rating was better than congresse’s when he left office. Such a statement makes the whole article suspect of bias. No surprise.

“honored protocol by staying silent about his successor.”

Unlike Carter and Clinton.

Today’s US press is more of a propaganda machine than Pravda was during the 1960s.

When, not if, we have the next 9-11 style attack, Cheney is going to look like a freaking genius and not even all the MSM spinmeisters are going to be able to sell it as Bush's fault. It grieves my heart that it is going to take thousands more dead Americans to wake up the morons in this country and a substantial portion still won't wake up.

Recall the idiot protesters in Greenwich Village when military action was launched on the Afghanistan bases of Al Qaida and the Taliban. These protests were just blocks from the World Trade Center ruins which were still smoldering at the time. That tells you all you need to know about the hardcore left.

The MSM will not let anyone question their Zero. No one in the MSM has ever answered even once, if we were not safer under Cheney and Bush then why weren't we attacked in over 7 years after everyone thought another attack was inevitable?
The MSM wants to keep focusing on Bush and Iraq but they conveniently forget to mention that a majority of Rats voted for the war and continued to fund the war.

Dick Cheney has every right to speak up! Somebody has to, no other Republican is doing it!!! What is he supposed to do? Sit back and watch Obama destroy this country and be polite by not saying anything to contradict The One?

Obama needs to be attacked viciously and often.

The man who the MSM themselves imbued with gravitas has jumped the ‘drive by’ shark in their feeble minds....

Keep ‘em on the ropes Dick. No quarter. All hail the Sith lord of conservatism.

Big Time was always popular with me. It is not as if the “attack dog” function is exactly new to this VP. I seem to recall Algore being absolutely apocalyptic in his denunciations of President George W. Bush.

President Bush is showing admirable restraint, as befits his position. Dick Cheney is taking the fight to the Democrats, as befits his position. I would like to think he is positioning himself for a run in 2012, but I don’t want to get my hopes up.

They will spin it as Dick Cheney's fault, because he told the terrorists how vulnerable we are. You would think that is a joke, but it's not. That's how they will play it.

His health is way too much of an issue. I would gladly vote for him though, in a minute....

Where are the rest of the Republicans is the real question here.

Bad enough we have a Democrat Kenyan President , Speaker of the House and Senate Leader. We have Republicans hiding and wanting to change the party into RINO’s and liberals.

To me, the bottomline is VP Cheney was speaking with sincerety and he was right in what he said, Obamao’s actions are making the US more vulnerable to Islamacist Terrorists at home and abroad.

The Dems cannot stand it when people tell the truth about what they are doing.

If recent memory serves me, I believe the press celebrated the fact that Joe Biden was chosen as Obama’s running mate to be the “attack dog”.

Thank God, Dick Cheney has the stones to tell it like it is. If you and I can see the writing on the wall in spite of the love fest going on for Obama, imagine what he knows! Besides, the press and the libs know he will not back down to them, which is driving them crazy. I would love to see any lib out there go toe to toe with him face to face, especially Obama or Biden. He would chew them up and spit them out all while remaining cool calm and collected. They would be having a hissy fit! LOL!

I have always enjoyed Dick Cheney, and certainly welcome his recent comments. At least someone in the GOP has a backbone and the willingness to say what needs to be said. This whole exchange makes 2010 and 2012 look really depressing, as the Dems buck history and gain seats.....
