A contentious "Rightwing Extremism" report that warned of military veterans as possible recruits for terrorist attacks against the U.S. was not authorized, has been withdrawn and is being rewritten, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told Capitol Hill lawmakers.
"The wheels came off the wagon because the vetting process was not followed," Ms. Napolitano told the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday.
"The report is no longer out there," she said. "An employee sent it out without authorization."
The report was shared with state and local law enforcement officials nationwide via the department's internal Web site on April 7, angering Republican lawmakers and military veterans who said it unfairly stereotyped veterans.
Ms. Napolitano did not say when the report was taken off the "intel Web site" and all Homeland Security Department Web sites, but she said it is in the process of being "replaced or redone in a much more useful and much more precise fashion."

I bet the new one is classified SECRET to keep it out of the hands of the likes of us.
Think some Washington Times reporter will spill it and defy Eric Holder?
Yeah, how's your vetting process going, Prez?
That lesbo needs to be fired. Then she can go on MSNBC and work with Madcow.
Ah, oops, got caught(d*** the internet). Happy face time folks—we’re withdrawing the report. Someone (we’ll figure out who to throw under the bus later) didn’t follow the “vetting” process.
The irony here, of course, is that no Vet in his/her right mind would ever attack America. However, many of us will have no compunction about fighting anyone who means America harm—including internal Marxist enemies.
This report demonstrates that The Marxist Onada’s crowd views Vets as threats to their usurped presidency. The arrogant fools equate themselves with America.
O.K., exactly how many other similar reports are there, floating around DHS?
...to be released.
These people are so full of shite! This is just like saying “the jury will pay no attention to this criminal’s murderous behavior”. And it took them over a MONTH to retract it? Sorry Janet ... your mission was accomplished and you know damn well it was!
As BO says: “The horse is all ready out of the barn.”
Too late now Mr. Napalitano.
I love how these incapable numb-skulls try to cover their @$$’$ after the fact.
BTW, there is no vetting process, anywhere in that administration.
“That lesbo needs to be fired. Then she can go on MSNBC and work with Madcow.”
She might have a better gig lined up. SCOTUS!
Doesn’t this make you feel all warm and fuzzy!?!?!!?!
It took ‘em over a month to pull the report. And it’s done under the lame guise of, “Oops! Someone ELSE is to blame.”
Too late.
Nobody’s buying it.
The sad part is that a whole lot of people bought it, and will continue to buy it!
“An employee sent it out without authorization.”
Liar! That is utter Nancy Pelosi!
Nevermind.
Ah yes ... the infamous “employee”. That person has been doing some pretty stupid things for as long as I’ve lived, and he/she/it is still around?
If DHS were really serious about extremists in the US they would start by cleaning out the Jihadist camps already set up in the USA.

Somebody else to blame!
Usual course of action, this Administration gets caught (in this case with a report stating what it really thinks of those who are not in step with the dictates of the Politburo), and looks for some underling who would happen to be convenient to throw under the bus. Not Napolitano, she is obviously a member of the Politburo, otherwise she would have been carted off in the Black Maria.

The primary mission of this department is to prevent terrorist attacks on our nation. The document on right-wing extremism sent last week by this departments Office of Intelligence and Analysis is one in an ongoing series of assessments to provide situational awareness to state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies on the phenomenon and trends of violent radicalization in the United States. I was briefed on the general topic, which is one that struck a nerve as someone personally involved in the Timothy McVeigh prosecution.
Let me be very clear: we monitor the risks of violent extremism taking root here in the United States. We dont have the luxury of focusing our efforts on one group; we must protect the country from terrorism whether foreign or homegrown, and regardless of the ideology that motivates its violence.
We are on the lookout for criminal and terrorist activity but we do not nor will we ever monitor ideology or political beliefs. We take seriously our responsibility to protect the civil rights and liberties of the American people, including subjecting our activities to rigorous oversight from numerous internal and external sources.
I am aware of the letter from American Legion National Commander Rehbein, and my staff has already contacted him to set up a meeting next week once I return from travel. I will tell him face-to-face that we honor veterans at DHS and employ thousands across the department, up to and including the Deputy Secretary.
As the department responsible for protecting the homeland, DHS will continue to work with its state and local partners to prevent and protect against the potential threat to the United States associated with any rise in violent extremist activity.
These reports are being written because Homelad Security knows that the Constitution for the united States is now being trashed by every branch of the Federal Government, and they deeply fear that millions of Americans still insist on adherence to the Constitution.
The report was withdrawn. Aaaha! But not before it was already sent to poison the minds of a younger generation of law-enforcement officers.
Homeland Security, so-called, is setting a stage for a nation without any Constitutional guarantees of anything. They are trying to prevent another stage from being set, and that is one in defense of the Constitution.
Those who act to defend the constitution in good faith and conscience, measured by the level and circumstances of the increasing attacks upon it, can never be properly labeled terrorists, but rather PATRIOTS.
