Pelosi: Bush briefers lied to me
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Bush administration told her explicitly they weren't using waterboarding on terror detainees during a Sept. 2002 briefing on interrogation tactics -- months after they had begun waterboarding Abu Zabaydah.
Pelosi also called on CIA director Leon Panetta to release full details on her briefing -- and shook her head in the affirmative when asked if the administration had actually "lied" to her.
"The only mention of waterboarding in the briefing was that it was not being employed," she told reporters, reading from a prepared statement -- twice for emphasis.
The intelligence briefers gave Pelosi, she said, "inaccurate and incomplete information."
"Perhaps they should release the briefing-- I would be very happy if they released the briefing," Pelosi added.

This is how one call tell that Mrs. Pelosi is really very stupid.
This is why her speakership is at risk, and her stewardship over the House has been dreadful.
Wow, what a mess she is conjuring up for the House, her party, and the nation.
This is essentially the same tactic she used from the start. Her her hope/belief was that because of the sensitive nature, no one would ever know that she was briefed. Now she’s just falling back further to a position that if full brief brief were released it would tell that she didn’t know, knowing the odds of that happening are low or nonexistent. I wouldn’t be surprised if she already has received assurances the full brief won’t be released.
She’s taking on the CIA - and she’s going on the record while VPDC is on the war path already?
There’s more to this. She’s fighting too hard and not being as crafty as normal.
It begs the question - is someone inside pushing some of these buttons? This is getting more than the one-day spin cycle we have become accustomed to when dealing with criticism of her majesty. Do we have a mini coup’ underway within the house majority?
Steny Hoyer is more likely behind this than BO; Hoyer has not liked her for a long time.

Prediction: Pelosi will win re-election in 2010.
This will all blow over by next week, when the masses tune into the next juicy political/celebrity/reality show scandal.
How long before Hoyer calls for her to step down?
Unless they said, "Hey Mrs. Pelosi, you are looking pretty today", then no one lied to her.
Did they mention that chinese water torture and bamboo under the fingernails was not being used either? Honestly, why would they mention tactics NOT being used?

That is my thinking also. She shot her mouth off a while ago about showing 0 who is in charge and this is the payback. Real popcorn event now. This could get very bloody before it is over. The only question I have is if Cheney is being set up also or is he just fanning the flame.
