America's spy chief has been sent on a secret mission to Israel to warn its leaders not to launch a surprise attack on Iran without notifying the US Administration.
As Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, prepares to visit Washington, it emerged yesterday that Leon Panetta, the head of the CIA, went to Israel two weeks ago. He sought assurances from Mr Netanyahu and Ehud Barak, the Defence Minister, that their hawkish new Government would not attack Iran without alerting Washington.
Concerns have been rising that Mr Netanyahu could launch a strike on Tehran's atomic programme, in the same way that Israel hit Saddam Hussein's Osirak reactor in 1981.

I actually think the Obama administration is the only one in modern times to be able to out ‘Peter Principle’ the Clinton administration.
Never have so few owed so much to so many for their success.
Leon should give them the word to evacuate now ~ don't wait ~ just go.
Last thing the Israeli government is going to do is let Obama know ahead of time that they are going to nuke his buddies.

My impression is that Obama turning his back on Israel is a hands-off way for him to force a dangerous battle.
He seems to like to see his “people” (comediens, pundits, thugs, “neighbors”..) do his dirty work. His hands are clean...He stays in charge of parties and hopey-changy speeches.
I think his “handlers” would kind of enjoy a the chaos world crisis and the resultant “benevolent” establishment of a New World Order, complete with unionized hickory-convincing-stick weilding Acorns....
Israel's very survival is on the line, and what must be done must be done.
The U.S. has frittered years away, and now we are left with the desperate option of Israel striking on its own.
