Former Vice President Dick Cheney says the only way for President Barack Obamas diplomacy with Iran to work is if Obama threatens to bomb the country. No where in the article is this sentence substantiated.
The closest is LIZ C stating that 'military action' must be threatened.
Just search for the word 'bomb' and it only appears in the headline and this sentence.

The point remains: arms, and the will to use them, keep the world polite.
If Iran doesn’t think we’ll actually _do_ anything to stop ‘em, they can just wrap us up in words until there’s suddenly a smoking hole in a particular part of the ME.

I thought it was out of character for Cheney to say such a thing. He would never broadcast a specific military action. But advocating keeping the military option in the face of Tehran is more like him.
However I get the feeling that we are hearing a lot out of Cheney lately because he is no longer deferring to Bush.
He was probably biting his tongue for eight years.
