Im just curious...why does everyone say that Crist is a RINO? Im not saying he isnt, but Ive not seen any evidence to the contrary. Cato gave him an A on their fiscal policy report card...that sounds like a pretty solid conservative to me. What makes him a RINO?
Crist supported the TARP bailouts:

Isn’t this the guy that ran against him in the primary? I’m looking for a more objective source. Also, I’m not one of these people who think that someone is automatically a RINO if they disagree on a couple of issues; I consider them to be a RINO if they have a long track record of consistently favoring liberal positions, like Arlen Specter or Lincoln Chafee. Even if he is for amnesty, that doesn’t necessarily make him a RINO.

Ah, now this is more concerning. Maybe the financial crisis caused him to panic and start pandering and abandon his principles...what a shame.

Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn of (embarrassed to say now) Texas
This guy needs mucho pressure put on him, and may need to be replaced when "his time is up"!!!!!

Organization is the key and the one area where Dems have us beat hands down. Conservatives must get their act together and start actually getting involved in both conservative groups and the Republican party if we are able to have a chance at taking our country back. Conservatives must also stop compromising their most basic principles to appease the RINO leadership.
Political activism must become a way of life for us.

I have a hot flash for those continuing to be delusional.
It's not just 'Tea Party Republicans,' a name invented by the socialists as a form of derision.
I have never been a Republican. I have always voted Conservative. I am not a card carrying member of any Tea Party.
But I decry the recent radical left turn my country has made. With 'Republican complicity,' actively, or by inaction.
Let's give the cute labels a rest!

That things are the way they are is not a strong argument. We cons should be trying to change things such as what has gone on inside the beltway for a long time and lead to massive defeats. To say that this is just the way things are done, well thats retarded and stupid.

In Florida the strongest issue is anti-tax increase. Crist has just made an anti=tax increase pledge in the Senate race. He also made one in the Governor’s race. Lately it is being said that he is going to propose a tax increase this year. If he does, he is a dead duck.

A new political party is a mountain to climb, but we might be able to make the GOP morph into a different party, gradually. Ask every candidate to take a stand. “I’m a Tea Party Republican.” In time, it might just be known as the Tea Party, maintaining the best of the old GOP (limited government, restraint, responsibility).
To: Delacon
Somehow, I knew that's what you'd say.
Typical comeback of the uneducated, "Well, even if that is a long-held tradition I knew nothing about...it should be changed. Yeah, don't bother me with facts and reality, I demand things be done my way!!!"
Keep screaming about RINOs, you're really making a difference. Really.

From what I hear from my conservative aquaintances in Texas, Cornyn has had plenty of pressure put on him, but still goes against the wishes of his constituents.
His time won't be up for several years so it may be too late by then. I asked this on another thread but received no response: how do we remove Cornyn as Chairman of the Republican Senatorial Committee? For that matter, is there any way to start a recall against him and elect an actual conservative to his Senate seat?

Another example of Crist's Big-Government socialist governing approach. This time he want's the government to control insurance prices:

I love that idea. Not starting a 3rd party, but taking over the Republican party from within. My husband and I have been talking about this for a long time. After all, the far left wing has taken over the Democratic party, which proves it can be done. Why can’t conservatives do this?
