The melons are prized for their perfect proportions and taste, not for their disproportionate size and fakery.

I do suppose that depending on the spray tanning involved Pam's are as orange fleshed.

I saw this in the news a couple of days go and did some research. It seems these Melons are NOT rare. You can buy seeds or small plants for practically nothing so, other than bragging rights to having paid a lot of money for a specific melon from a specific place, I don't see the price.
