re: #27....ya think? Ever notice how the illegal immigration costs in NC are never talked about in the local news here in NC? One of the 4 liberal safe havens for illegals in the nation thanks to guv Sleazy and the DimNut controlled legislature.

Guv Bev is on happy mood leveling pills these days as we are 6-7 billion in the budget hole now......NC use to be a real nice place back prior 1995 and really cool in in the '70's...now transplants have soiled the landscape and the goobermint.......of course the NC Legislature does really important stuff like banning smoking.

State and local goobs will not completely eliminate ineffective wasteful spending programs and that question is never asked in the news.

The numbers are amazing. In 1990, according to Census figures, the foreign born population of NC was 115,380. In 2000, it was 436,513, and in 2007 it was 602,842. The Mexican-born population went from 8,751 in 1990 to 179,236 in 2000.

These major demographic changes have political consequences. 87% of the 1.2 million LEGAL immigrants who enter this country annually are minorities. Immigrants and minorties vote the majority for Dems. States like Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and now VA and NC are turning from red to purple to eventually blue. And the Reps response is to call for major outreach to minorities rather than focusing on reducing the amount of legal immigration into this country. They are committing political suicide. An amnesty will just finish off the GOP and the country quicker, but the result will be same even without an amnesty.
