We’re just lucky we have Mercury vehicles, a division of Ford.
As I understand it though, Ford may take government funds in the near future. We can see how well that worked out for GM and Chrysler. Ford executives would have to have their heads examined if they were to follow that model.

With the government taking over the banks, Ford may be forced by the government bank’s actions or inactions to accept direct government funds.......
What would Ford executives do if all their credit lines with the banks dried up?

Ford will be forced to take the money in order to consolidate the power; otherwise Obama’s plan will have a hole in it.

Commercial real estate. Obama wants to leave the people their feeling of freedom with home ownership, but the government will surely soon own every condo development, hotel, and commercial property that is over-leveraged or under capacity. Mark my words. That's what's next.
