Best ways for the GOP to avoid acknowledging Elephanticus Californicus Ginormicus?

One of the major reasons California is in the shape it's in is because of massive immigration. Not only does that increase spending, but it also gives more power to far-left politicians, many of whom frequently act more like they work for the Mexican government.

The people ultimately responsible for getting CA into its current mess are:

* The far-left
* RINOs like Arnie who collaborated with the far-left rather than fighting them
* The libertarian/profits-at-any-price crowd
* The Democratic Party

An idealized version of the GOP would look back at who specifically supported the current situation in order to discredit them and help reduce their impact on future policy.

Of course, the GOP isn't going to do that. They'll probably adopt an Up With Libertarianism! stance (pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/78851)  despite the fact that the ideology of those same loons is partly responsible for the current mess. And, the GOP will buy into whatever line is sold them regarding it being "mean-spirited" or worse to mention the simple facts of the matter.

Please speculate below on the things the GOP will do to avoid acknowledging the elephant in the room.

And, please send a link to your comments on this thread to relevant GOP leaders as a sign of your confidence in their stalwart leadership.

There is a saying that goes “As California goes, so goes the nation”. The nation needs to learn a lesson from California’s woes. Socialism does not work!

Yes....but it is ILLEGAL immigration that is California’s (and many other states) problem.

CAL would allieviate most of its problems immediately if they would dump the Hispano-Racist agenda and start pushing illegal aliens out of the state

They’re all dressed in white. Does that mean they surrender?

Don't kid yourself - legal chain migration is burying us, as well.

IMO California fell irretrievably into the blue following the passage of Simpson Mazzolli, and that was supposed to apply to only 1.5 million illegals (I'm sure the true figure was closer to 5 or 6 million). The effect of that legislation on the state was profound.

I think a major problem with California is a mush-brained electorate that exhibits exhibits glandular-based decision making. They have no abilities of reason, logic or critical thinking when it comes to public policy.

The recent rejection of the governor’s propositions was not a sudden epiphany of rationality in the collective minds of California voters. Instead, this vote was consistent with the behavior of California voters. Tax increase? No way. Increased government programs? Absolutely. How to pay for this? Don’t care; isn’t it “free?”

Their motto: “I want, but don’t want to pay.”

I agree, all immigration needs to be stopped for at least ten years. No one really knows who's here and who isn't.

I think you’re a little bit off.. it’s more the case that we have 2 sets of people in this state (like most places) whose goals are at odds. A great many of us don’t want any further (or even most of the existing) government “services”, and vote against the taxes to pay for what we didnt want in the first place.

There’s another set of folks who want the nanny-state socialist government. Some of them want it at any cost,but the rest want a free lunch. They’re all looters, though.

The change in the tides here depends on how some of the looters shift their voting.

1) The public sector is collectively the largest employer in CA 2) its pretty well established that immigrants are heavier than average users of social services.

Add these groups to the ubiquitous knee-jerk daddy was a democrat democrats and non-taxpaying community and the result is the Dems own this state in perpetuity.
