Next time youre debating Bob Shrum and want to lure him into making ugly and over-the-top attacks, just remind the audience of his unblemished 0-8 record of having lost every presidential race on which hes worked . . .
This mornings Today offered a prime example of the phenomenon. Nicolle Wallace, former Communications Director to Pres. George W. Bush, made passing reference to Shrums failed work on behalf of John Kerry in 2004. A clearly stung Shrum responded by referring to her as pathetic and accusing her of possible foolhardiness.
For good measure, Shrum called Wallaces claim that Dems are playing politics with national security a smear. There was just one little problem:

Nicolle made Mr. 0-8 mad ping to Today show list.
Why would the Dems. put a fat loser like Shrum out there to be their face. He was on Morning Joe yesterday and was blasting the CIA in defense on Nancy. Joe told him he didn’t know what he was talking about. Shrums idea of a debate is to fillibuster and talk over people. He comes across as rude and a know nothing blowhard.
Good for Nicolle, You go girl. Rub tubbies face in the mud - then call him a looser. Nice work
Shrum IS a LOSER. Counting his loss to Nicole he is now 0 for 9.
The truth hurts. Maybe she struck a nerve.
Maybe they put that HIDEOUS Schrum on TV because the ODIOUS Tad Devine was busy????
“Why would the Dems. put a fat loser like Shrum out there to be their face”
They need the really personable guys like Bob Beckel and Paul Begala on FOX where there are actually viewers?
If this is the same Nicolle Wallace who started the conflab over Palin's wardrobe expenditures, the rats prolly figured they had a fellow traveler in her.
“Shrum IS a LOSER. Counting his loss to Nicole he is now 0 for 9.
This seems so harsh and judgmental. For all we know, Shrum is a Republican mole, in which case he’s batting 1,000!
But assuming he’s not a mole, I don’t think it’s in the interest of Republicans to so discourage the man: on the contrary, we should be encouraging him to take on as many future presidential campaigns as possible.
I like the way you think. BOB SHRUM is the best. Every Democrat should hire him.
My favorite Shrum story is when in 2004 relying on the screwed up exit polling in Ohio, which indicated a Kerry win, said to Kerry: “May I be the first to congratulate you President-elect Kerry.” BBBWWWAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
