Schwarzenegger details state layoffs

Posted on 05/22/2009 5:33:29 PM PDT by NormsRevenge

California's prison and parole system will lose about 5 percent of its sworn officers as Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's layoff order takes hold over the next four months, according to administration figures released on Friday.

Another 10 agencies, including one that serves veterans and another that collects taxes are also cutting staff, but none as many as the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Looks like the CCPOA takes the biggest hit in the 1st round.. The question is, will it be a 12 or 15 round bout. ;-)

I am so proud of California voters. They did the right thing just as they did when they voted Prop 8.

This vote was an overwhelming condemnation by California voters of the entire state government of that state.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT RAISING TAXES. THIS IS ABOUT CUTTING SPENDING. THERE IS SO MUCH WASTE FRAUD AND ABUSE THAT THE TAXPAYERS PAY FOR THAT THEY ARE FINALLY GETTING FED UP WITH IT. I CAN ONLY HOPE THIS FEELING TRANSFERS FROM CALIFORNIA TO THE ENTIRE NATION. THAT IS WHAT THE VOTERS ARE SCREAMING TO THE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR DUMBASSES IN SACRAMENTO.

Release the prisoners, but keep them shackled, chain-gang like. They can hoe the rows in ‘Mah-REEEE-Ah’s Garden’ at the CA State Capitol.

Problem solved. :)

Now its time to get series. When will we see the artsy fartsy programs and the “diversity” programs and the enviro wackjob programs axed?

It is so easy to go after the poor, schools, fire, police, and prisons to rattle the voters, but when will the useless bs programs be defunded until CA gets back on its feet? When will the illegals be cut off from services that residents themselves cant even get? I hope you all in CA keep their damn feet IN the fire, the heck with to the fire! Excellent Job on the defeat in 1a-e!! I hope the rest of the country follows through!!

I don’t see the Finance folk on the list, they have or had something like 250 accountants at last count..

California sure is a complicated place to figure out when it comes to how many folk do next to nothing and get paid well to do it.

The question is, will it be a 12 or 15 round bout.

The politiking behind the scenes must be at fever pitch. "Don't cut MY program . . cut someone else's."

Who knows how bad it will get too?

Actor Christian Bale is shown in a scene from "Terminator Salvation" in this undated publicity photo released to Reuters May 20, 2009. True to his catchphrase "I'll be back," California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger did make a brief cameo, even though he never set foot on the movie's set. Through computer-generated special effects, his fearsome visage was taken from a previous movie and superimposed on a deadly Terminator robot. REUTERS/Richard Foreman/Warner Bros Pictures/Handout

From Santa Barbara: "Drill here. Drill now!" :-D.

We have the dumb things sitting out there anyway. Might as well put 'em to good use. Either way we see 'em.
