It's not 'torture' – it's 'mercy'

Exclusive: Andrew Longman says terrorists who deserve death are getting off easy

Posted: May 23, 2009 1:00 am Eastern

I get tired of hearing it.

The media has a one-track story about "torture." Here it is. Republicans are mean old "torturers" and they "tortured." Obama is an exalted liberal who "vows" to "return us" to "our values" by "not torturing anymore."

The storyline is evil, stupid and wrong.

Here's the real story.

Genocidal maniacs committed themselves to murdering as many American civilians as possible and were caught in the act of carrying out these plans. Under any normal, historical standard for war crimes, the captured terrorist who is guilty of the attempt to commit genocide against civilians is worthy of capital punishment.

Instead, in order to save lives, the United States has applied, or should apply, corporal punishment (beatings, paddlings, throwing the miscreant against the wall 40 times, giving him a swirly). The terrorist, worthy of death but given the plea-bargain of corporal punishment in exchange for life-saving information, should be awfully glad just to get beaten silly for plotting genocide, instead of being killed outright in the same way he was going to murder civilians. Justice would be to crash a jetliner, fully loaded with fuel, into a camp filled with the convicts of military tribunals. Mercy is treating them like a side of beef under the knuckles of Rocky Balboa.

Lets also remember that those Genecidal Maniacs were trying to Kill Hundreds of Thousands of Innocent American Citizens on that fateful September 11, 2001! Only by GOD’S Gracious Hand, did not thousands die a horrific death in New York City that day. That those planes didNOT topple the buildings sideways instanteneously and fill hundreds of city blocks with fire and rubble is aBlessing No One mentions! And what would Flt 93 have wrought, especially to those Demorats that were in D.C. that day and try to minimize everything today and end up glorifying the Terrorists, and who glorify another Terrorist and his wife who are close friends of ZERO yet today and appear to be the writer of his Memoir and the Prime Supporter of his entry into politics. Wake up, AMERICA!

Under Lord Zero, there is no reason to have prisoners, just kill on sight if you can’t use them for information.

No mercy is not treating them like a side of beef.

If you want to try them for murder or war crimes and execute them, go right ahead, no objections whatever. But you can't torture them. Or anyone else. No matter what your excuse. You can't torture Ted Bundy; you can get rid of him, but you can't torture him.

If you still don't get it, here is a clue. Suppose the government giving the excuses about who to torture and why, were say Joe Stalin's government. We don't trust politicians - any politician - with that kind of power because we know exactly what they will do with it.

"Justifying perfidy and murder for public benefit, perfidy and murder would soon become the end, public benefit merely the pretext..." - Edmund Burke

You can kill on sight anyone resisting of course. If a man surrenders and you kill him anyway, you can go to the gallows and good riddance.
