If she gets confirmed, it will also confirm that the rule of law has went bye bye.

She’s for the little guy alright, as long as the little guy doesn’t happen to be a white male fire fighter.

I guess this was the “moderate” he promised.

Well, look at the bright side. He could have stuck us with Deval Patrick or Janet Napolitano.

On April 9, 2009, New York Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand wrote a joint letter to President Obama urging him to appoint Sotomayor, or alternatively Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, to the Supreme Court if a vacancy should arise on the Court during his term.

On April 30, 2009 David Souter’s retirement plans were leaked to the media, and Sonia Sotomayor received early attention as a possible nominee for the seat to be vacated in June 2009.

On May 13, 2009, the Associated Press reported that President Obama was considering Sotomayor, among others, for possible appointment to the United States Supreme Court.[34] If chosen, Sotomayor would be the Supreme Court’s first ever Hispanic justice (as well as the Court’s first ever lesbian-marxist.)

Sotomayor was appointed to the bench by GHW Bush. She's a liberal no question but a lot less of a bomb thrower than one might have expected from Obama.

She was initially placed on the bench by Bush. Another Bush mistake?

Affirmative Action pick pure and simple. Thanks to our last few administrations coddling illegals and allowing them to breed millions of citizens we will see more and more kowtowing to hispanics and softer and softer treatment for illegals as time passes.

No surprises here. We knew it would be a woman, either Hispanic or Negroe, liberal.

Obama is so predictable.

Obama chooses naked politics. Hispanic female and we’re double dared to call her an intellectual lightweight or liberal airhead.

Obviously he felt he couldn’t “snub” woman or Hispanics.

We now have a nice insight into his thought process.

She’s probably as good of a nominee as we could ever hope to get from Obama, understanding we’re not going to get someone conservative or even terribly moderate. If she goes down from scanal, whoever else he would dig up would probably be far more to the left.

When President Bush met with congressional Democrats to take their input on who an acceptable conservative candidate to them might be, she was their suggestion. The suggestion was declined, since she is NOT conservative. But the nomination was reasonable enough to elicit alarm that Bush might actually nominate her; She was a George HW Bush nominee to a lower court in 1991. (Her current position, however, was appointed by President Clinton, so she wasn’t too conservative for him!)

Although conservatives are right to be troubled by most federal judges’ interpretation of the Constitution, from a viewpoint of positions held, overturned cases, etc., she seems quite qualified.
